What no one seems to mention is that this thing will be fully extended, PAST the maximum extension of your liftgate. My 2013 Equinox, with the gate fully raised, was not a big enough gap to get this on without having to compress the support. Which I will just go ahead and inform you, is NOT an easy task to accomplish, and it wants to expand back out immediately, so getting it on was a really difficult adventure for me last night. Now that it's on however, it seems to work good and as far as I can tell fixed my issue with the liftgate slowly coming back down after opening. Good product, just be aware it might not be as easy as everyone makes it out to be.

Fits my 2013 Equinox perfectly, works fine. This clynder is for the right side of the liftgate.
