As a DIYer the cost of a 18V/20V battery operated grease gun wasn't warranted especially when you only have a couple/few grease zirks needing occasional greasing. The Lincoln 1147 lever-action manual grease gun is adequately built and works quite well. Adding a quick coupler makes using a manual grease gun much easier. Hasn't leaked and remains in very good working order. Just make sure you store the 1147 horizontally to prevent gravity from oozing grease and store it in a heavy plastic bag to add to keeping grease from getting anywhere else. The Lincoln 1147 costs a few bucks more but you'll be glad you shelled out the fifty because the cheaper grease guns will ooze and leak from every joint and connection.

I've had this grease gun for several weeks now and it works very well just like the one my grandfather had 50+ years ago. It is well made metal construction, the hose is thick quality material the tip easily clips on to the zerk fittings and fills the fittings with grease as expected. Of course occasionally you might need to hold the tip at a good angle to get the grease to flow into the fitting properly but so far it hasn't been anything challenging or out of the ordinary. Priming the grease gun is quite easy and there's even how to videos online you can check out if you need assistance. You can fill the gun with bulk grease or use the cartridges.Overall a very nice tool that feels like it should last a long time.

Excellent value. Instructions are well written (for priming a new grease tube). Should last a lifetime.

My 2010 Tacoma 4x4 is supposed to have ~5 grease points in the u-joints of the drive shaft, which I have never lubricated since purchase, so I thought to purchase this pump and give it a shot. This pump is quite large but is built solidly. Probably overkill for me and my application. I took 1 star off because of how bad the instructions are. So I purchased grease that comes in a pop top tube that makes installation into the pump easy however the directions for the pump were not that great. What you have to do to use the grease "cartridge" is:- Connect the black hose if not already done so- MAKE SURE YOU PULL THE T-HANDLE COMPRESSING THE SPRING AND LOCK IT INTO PLACE (by tilting it into the locking slot. DO NOT LET COME LOOSE)!!! If this comes undone while removed from the rest of the pump, you will HAVE TO put it back into the pump (with no grease cartridge, if grease cartridge is in pump, you will need to remove it)- With the spring compressed, locked into place, unscrew the bottom collar.- Remove the plastic top of the grease cartridge and insert that end first halfway into the pump and pop the metal top on the other end and let the whole cartridge slide the rest of the way into the pump. (I am going off memory, but I think that's the correct orientation, with the metal pop top end pointing down or out.)- Difficult part, now WITHOUT RELEASING OR UNLOCKING THE COMPRESSED SPRING, put the plunger end past the metal pop collar of the cartridge. At first I didnt think it would ever work since the plunger is wider than the metal pop collar however it is squeezeable rubber. Just keep squishing and pivoting until it get past the collar and into the cartridge tube. MAKE SURE NOT TO UNLOCK THE SPRING!!!!- Once the plunger is in place, carefully screw back on the pump collar back onto the pump and make sure its secure and not cross threaded.- Then and only then, unlock the spring by pulling back and straightening it in the locking slot.Once primed, a little goes a long way. The hose fitting pushes onto the u-joint grease fitting, actuate the lever until grease starts flowing. Then use a lot of force to pull the hose off of the fitting.Pro Tip, once you are done, zip tie or tape the lever down. It does not take much force to swing the lever out and once you swing it back in, grease will come out the hose, so might as well lock it in place. Turns out after a recall for u-joints I had done years ago for driveshaft vibrations, Toyota swapped out the u-joints with grease fittings for fitting-less u-joints so turns out I only had 1 u-joint to grease in my 4wd transfer case.

This grease gun reminds me of what my dad had 50 years ago on the farm. It's simple, lasts forever, and gets the job done. The flexible whip hose is essential for reaching into tight locations. About the only way to improve this product is to add LockNLube Grease Gun Coupler.

I didn't think the higher priced grease guns were any better than the less expensive ones until I bought an inexpensive grease gun and it would not deliver the grease to the nozzle. What a waste of money and grease.I bought this one and wow. It works just like the ones that used to be made in the USA. I loaded it with a new cartridge and it worked immediately. I did change the grease nozzle to one I could lock in place but that was the only change I made. For the lock-in-place nozzle see OKYOUK Minimum Grease Gun Coupler. I am very pleased with this purchase and I would recommend it to anyone.

Built well (India) with DIN spec. hose. Pleased it's fairly heavy duty with a plunger that works! Worth the price; the "clean out" plug a nice feature.

The Lincoln grease gun is built well and stout. The gun is easy to load and easy to prime. The level style handle makes it easy to pump even amounts of grease every time.

Works excellent and highly suggest this over other cheaper brands. Trust me, I’ve tried them and so far this one was the best.
