I was able to remove both glow plug harnesses from the 6.0 with this tool without damaging them. The only exception is there are one or two where the heater box is in the way on the right side. I bought another cheaper version of this tool and cut and modified it to go in straight instead of at a 90 degree angle. New Ford harnesses (I would not buy aftermarket due to questionable quality) are about $150. This tool is a lot cheaper than that and also just makes removing them much easier than trying to use screwdrivers, pliers, etc.

I took apart a Md salty plow truck motor and 5 out of 8 broke but pulling hard it slid off. So be prepared to buy a new glow plug harness. They get hard and brittle so using harbor freight long rounded needle nose pliers needed to be used. But I got the right tool maby they will save me not having to buy a new harness on the next one. But super nice tool w rubber so u can pull hard but again they slip but do work and good tool. I’m not knocking the tool but when the plastic breaks u need something else to dig the plastic out.

saved me from breaking the plastic plugs on the glow plug wiring harness when I removed the old one. Did not break a single one thanks to this tool. Just by looking at it you can tell its way better than the ford tool or any of the other cheap thin looking removal tools available on here. I was skeptical at first seeing a lot of people saying these tools don't really help and to just use a wire and needle nose pliers, but once I got in the engine bay to do the actual removal I realized how much of a pain it would be to get a pair of needle nose pliers and a piece of wire in that tight space and be able to pull up on each of the 8 plastic wiring harness plugs without breaking them off and creating yourself a nightmare to deal with. It was worth a couple extra bucks to do the job right and easy. Besides its not even that much!

This glow plug remover is a absolute MUST for removing glow plugs on the 6.0 engine!!!Even with the tool some connectors may still break off, which is no fault of the tool, but the design of the factory harness itself. Soaking the connections in penetrating oil for days does help make the removal process easier & a lot less likely they will break off. If this tool doesn't remove then the 'screw trick' likely wont either and your almost guaranteed that you will be removing the valve covers and injectors to remove all the bits and pieces that will break off and fall into the lifter assembly.

It did the trick. Glow plug removal on ford superduty's are a PIA without this harness tool. As a professional mechanic, I recommend this
