It is a solidly build mill, heavy, and we love it. Turning the mill is on the hard side, but that is no problem with us, we wanted a solid mill that will last long. Seems that this one will do it.

Grinds peppercorns like a champ with a convenient coarseness adjust mechanism. I have a black anodized model for regular black pepper and this natural finish silver model for white peppercorns.

This was a great pepper mill. There is a design flaw. The part I photographed has a Hex nut that goes into the hole. It just spins. It’s like a clutch, so now you turn the cap and the grinder doesn't engage. The cap just spins like a top. Apparently a part is missing from the cap. When you get one of these look to see if the hex nut cover is on the cap, without it, the pepper grinder wont spin.Otherwise it had good weight. I really liked the grind settings. I was considering the more expensive cannon, but having the grind settings on the cylinder was preferable, easier to set on the fly. Have gone through too many ceramic grinders. Just tossed an Ikea and my Oxo now feels like VW compared to this CNC milled BMW. But Ive gone back to my OxO as this one is currently useless. I contacted HeiGeek Park the Luvan seller. I got a message back in chinese. They asked for photos and video which I provided. But I have not heard back from them. Luvan web site doesn’t exist anymore. Through their customer chat on Amazon, I have asked them for a new cap. Let see how long that takes.They sent me a new pepper mill. They didn’t have any caps. But it works great and has the hex lock washer.

Mill is well made and works great on all grind settings. I wanted it more than I needed it but use it every day so I am glad I bought it. The catch basket is securely attached to the body with an o-ring making it difficult to detach. I removed the o-ring and the body fits loosely in the basket and acts as a stand for the mill.

So far I’ve been impressed with this heavy duty, easy to adjust the grind size, easy to load and with a large capacity, solid metal, black on black pepper pulverizer. I was hesitant to spend this much money on a tool I’ve got cheap on for years, but now there is no turning back, this was worth dipping into the rainy day fund for.

I love pepper and I have dumped it on my food since I was a young boy. I had come to realize that I find your average pepper mill is just either run-of-the-mill or not even functional enough to reliably use. Some people actually use the plastic mills that you get at the grocery store which i find horrifying.I heard about pepper cannons while researching mills which put out pepper more efficiently and i looked at the steel grinder which is used in the most premium brand and compared it to other options. This mill actually has a grinder which is very much in line with the design of the best quality mill you can buy which is great! This mill is less than a third of the price too!The mill is very beautiful and it didn't have branding plastered on the side but it's on the bottom cup which i appreciate. The aluminum body is something that i appreciate, the main body is knurled for better grip rather than smooth which is a great feature. The course adjust knob on the button is snappy, it feels nice to adjust.The best part is that this grinder does grind very efficiently, the steel grinder has channels the funnel the peppers right onto the grinding/cracking area on the device which is just perfect. It's actually so satisfying to have pepper crack out at every turn, it's so nice not to need to crank on a mill so many times just to get a small amount. With this mill you'll be rewarded with abundant amounts of cracked pepper with ease of use.The only one thing i might be concerned about is the strength of the shaft which perhaps is not as strong as I might want. There is a significant amount of torque while turning the grinder while crushing so many pepper corns and for a product that i would like to last a lifetime and then some... It could perhaps have been more substantial.As a summary. Best pepper mill I've ever owned by a landslide. Very high quality. Could perhaps have had a more solid crank shaft but that's speculations.If you love pepper then you need a product like this and the price is actually very reasonable.

Ich habe über die Jahre schon einige Pfeffermühlen in Gebrauch gehabt.Es war so ziemlich jede Preisklasse vertreten und von NoName bis Markenprodukt alles dabei.Alle hatten jedoch eins gemeinsam... das Mahlwerk / die "Klingen" waren aus Kunststoff.Auch, wenn die hochpreisigen Geräte eine Einstellung hatten und man also von fein bis grob wählen konnte, irgendwie hakte und holperte es immer bei der Nutzung und das Ergebnis war nie so richtig toll.Die meisten der Pfeffermühlen gaben auch relativ schnell den Geist auf.Teilweise hielten sie nicht mal ein Jahr durch aber oft habe ich sie auch vorher aussortiert, weil ich von den Dingern einfach genervt war.Daher beschloss ich vor einiger Zeit, dass es jetzt mal an der Zeit wäre micht mit dem Thema Pfeffermühle intensiver zu beschäftigen.Ich habe viele Testberichte gelesen und tagelang die Beschreibungen und Bewertungen von diversen Pfeffermühlen gründlich studiert.Bei dieser Pfeffermühle bin ich dann hängen geblieben und habe sie bestellt.Gleich beim Auspacken hatte ich den Eindruck ein wertiges Teil in den Händen zu halten.Die Verarbeitung scheint sehr gut zu sein.Sie ist zwar relativ schwer, da ich aber kein Plastikteil wollte, war mir das vorher schon klar.Man muss sich bei der Nutzung schon ein wenig an das Gewicht gewöhnen aber irgendwann fühlt es sich natürlich an.Die Einstellung des Mahlwerks ist kinderleicht und man hat schnell raus, welche Einstellung das persönlich gewünschte Ergebnis liefert.Da die Mühle aussen mit einer Struktur gearbeitet und nicht völlig glatt ist, liegt sie auch gut in der Hand, wenn man mal feuchte Hände hat, weil man gerade dabei ist Lebensmittel zu bearbeiten.Hinterlässt man Rückstände auf der Oberfläche, einfach mit einem feuchten Tuch abwischen und falls doch mal ein bisschen was in den Rillen haften bleibt, lässt sich das auch ganz einfach mit einer Zahnbürste rausbürsten.Da diese Pfeffermühle so super mahlt, wie ich bisher noch keine zuvor erlebt habe, denke ich, dass das Mahlwerk aus Edelstahl das Geheimnis ist.Daher werde ich nie wieder eine Mühle mit einem Kunststoffmahlwerk für Pfeffer kaufen.Für Salz oder andere Gewürze, die nicht so kompakt sind wie Pfeffer mag das gut gehen, für Pfeffer muss es für mich jetzt jedoch Edelstahl sein.Für diese Pfeffermühle kann ich also eine ganz klare Kaufempfehlung aussprechen und 5 Sterne vergeben.Ich habe die Hoffnung, dass die Mühle auch bei fast täglichem Gebrauch mindestens mal 5 Jahre durchhält.Das würde ich bei dem Preis zumindest erwarten.Wie ich es bei einigen meiner Rezensionen mache, werde ich sicher auch hier ab und an ein Update zufügen, damit andere Interessenten abschätzen können, wie lange die Pfeffermühle zu gebrauchen ist.
