***UPDATE 10/3/2014***So, after almost four months of pretty heavy daily use I just wanted to report back that this grinder continues to work perfectly and shows every sign of lasting for years to come. I especially like the glass jar so I can see when I’m running low on black peppercorns, and even though it’s got a small form factor it holds a lot so I don’t have to refill it for several months despite using it multiple times daily. I’m super happy with this product all around and recommend it highly!!!***PLEASE NOTE: This review is only for the more expensive version here with the all metal grinding mechanism and not the cheaper version that looks the same but has a ceramic grinder that’s also available on this page — hope this helps avoid potential confusion.Been using this for a few days now and am very happy so far. I’ve used a traditional wood pepper mill my whole life, but now it’s just me so I wanted something smaller and with a glass body so I can easily see when I need to add more peppercorns. I also wanted an all metal grinding mechanism (that this version has for an few dollars more) instead of ceramic, which doesn’t seem to hold up as well, and I definitely wanted no plastic parts involved in the actual grinding either — don’t need any more microplastics in my diet thank you. This one seemed to check all the boxes, and so far it’s been great. Initially it was set to a more fine, powdery grind, but it was super easy to adjust to a more course grind that I prefer and it’s perfect. Overall it seems well built and is very easy to use, and as long as this holds up it’s a definite keeper. I’ll report back if any future mishaps, but as of now I’d recommend this very highly!

This is a very nice grinder. It is easy to use and has a nice shape. I have used it for some time now and it still works great. It. Is very durable and a great value.

Finally a pepper mill that is able to produce a very fine, consistent grind! Aside from the junk plastic grinders that some peppercorns are sold in, ceramic-toothed grinders are better but not very precise. I still had a hard time getting a fine grind from them. I decided to try one with high quality steel teeth. That did it. There's sometimes a need for a coarser grind, but I most often prefer it on the finer side. Several other types I had would have a fine setting, but the vibration and force of crushing peppercorns would always shift the gears and it would come out coarse again. After a month of almost daily use, this one is keeping its fine setting, is sturdy, and produces good results. Pleased so far!

This grinder works well due to the Steel grinder mechanism.The glass container is good as it will not harbor odors and cleans well.The shortcoming in this item is the top and grinder housing that are really aluminum.It does not attract a magnet as steel would and is a little cheap.The plastic components are simply okay; their longevity remains to be seen.This grinder is being used for Chocolate and Belgium rock sugar for coffee topping.The adjustable grinder function is very welcome to change the output size so it is not simply powdery, and handled the sugar pieces well without clogging or binding.Overall a good grinder, but could be more solidly built for the price.

I originally got this because I had a grinder who's parts were plastic and wouldn't... couldn't grind my coarse salts.Invested in this one and WOW! What a difference! No struggling, grind accuracy is on point. Easy to use, easy to fill, will hold a good bit. Definitely a quality item. I expect to have this baby for a long while. So good I bought one for my Pepper also!

Grinds consistently the same size I set it to. Clear glass is easier to clean and can see how full it is. Flavor of fresh cracked pepper is so much better than preground. White peppercorns, black peppercorns, green peppercorns, and a mix so I own several of these. Arthritis in my hands make turning difficult bit these are one of the easiest on joints I've found. Grinds quickly and easily, looks good with stainless and glass finish so I know when to refill, easy to clean

The product is well built,and looks good too. The ceramic grinder blade will not rust,and will stay sharp longer than a steel blade. The price is unbeatable. In my book as a person that lives on a limited budget, is a clear winner. It is easy to clean, and operate. I am pleased with this grinder.

“Carbon steel grinding mechanism†is just ceramic. “Metal†parts are just cheap plastic. Very low quality and not as described. I was only interested in a metal mechanism. Sending back for a refund. Wish I had read the reviews first which I normally always do!

Works well, looks ok. Didn’t need the wobbly metal stand which wasn’t mentioned in the specifications so that went in the recycling bin - unnecessary waste.

This design where you invert and twist the grinder has been copied by lots of makers or maybe the all come out of same factory? Solid glass which holds lots of pepper or salt with adjustable grind size. All one could possibly need!
