It is powerful magnet and can pickup things fairly easily that fall inside exhaust pipes and other difficult spots. There are other various similar covered products that I likes but I trusted that this one will do the job.

I cant count how many times I've dropped a bolt, or anything while working on a car, and 9 times out of 10, a straight telescopic magnet wont reach to get it out. With this one, it's made it alot easier to retrieve those pesky run away bolts. They should (they may) have a longer version, but I've yet to run into an issue where this one wouldn't reach. Magnet was nice and strong... kind of wish it had a de magnetized sleeve, because it does want to stick to anything metal on the way to retrieve said pesky bolt.

This magnet is bendable, Not Flexible. It is pretty strong and small enough to fit in any opening under the hood. I bought this when i had to pull the Top-End off my Diesel motor, exposing all sorts of dangerous areas when a nut, bolt, washer or socket could accidently fall deep into the motor.I was careful and paid close attention to detail and Didn't accidently drop anything into my motor. But if I had, i would have had no coice but to retrieve what ever it was or face ruining my very expensive engine. So expecting the unexpected, i bought this little magnet as a "Just in Case".Lets face the facts. If you work on motors, exposing areas that a wrench, socket, bolt, nut or washer could easily and accidently fall into the internal functions of that motor, you had better have a means of getting it out. This magnet is worth every penney it cost.

I dropped an allen wrench down into my engine while replacing my timing chain. I was able to remove the wrench 12'' down with out taking anything apart - PHEW!

The product is excellent for the price. I picked up a large crescent wrench with it, as you can see in the picture. I picked up a 10.5 ounce can of beans, which is very good for that size of magnet. The magnet really shines around autos. I picked up any size of bolt with it. I put a bolt in an unreachable part of the intake manifold on a 46 Dodge pickup. I bent the shaft where I needed it, and it picked the bolt out with ease. It is also an excellent tool for working on new model automobiles. I was changing the spark plugs on Nissan van, and had to use a very long extension on the ratchet to loosen them because of the hole where they screw in. The problem was, after they were unscrewed, I couldn't get them out because of the hole depth. This would be the tool needed in that situation. Very pleased.

I got this magnet because on a few occasions, I dropped my screw or whatever else I was holding, in my car engine, too far for my reach and that was a bummer every single time. This time (and I feel like an idiot about it), it was to recover some coins that fell through my car air vents. I feel like an idiot because the US coins are not magnetic and a magnet won't do anything to them.As for this tool, I am not fully happy for the following reasons:- It is very rigid- It is not that long- The magnet is smallApart from that, it is still usable even if not perfect...In conclusion:3 stars

Don't normally right reviews - but this one deserves it. I'm an avid garage mechanic and I had a 10mm bolt that got stuck between the intake manifold and the block... Ford 5.4l 3v... (Decent engine - awful design) I tried unsuccessfully for a long time with my fingers, screwdrivers, angled pliers, etc... trying to get the bolt out, but it had become wedged so that you could only slightly move it with your finger and none of the aforementioned implements would assist.Fast forward 2 days. I got this and it was out within 20 seconds of wiggling. This gadget is incredibly strong and the bendable portion is incredibly stiff. I bent it into an angle that would fit under and around the intake manifold while then directing it to the bolt with my fingers. Once it latched on to the bolt all I had to do was wiggle it free.I was so surprised by it. 5 stars and into my tool box it goes! If you have anything magnetic that is stuck somewhere - try this guy. It will probably work for you!

This Magentic saved me a bundle, I was changing a starter on my 4 wheeler and the socket slipped and fell into the crank case and I couldn't get it out. I oredered this and it is stiff but was what I needed to reach the socket and lift it out.

Haven't used it yet. Things stick to it and hasn't broken. Hope I don't have a reason to need to use it.
