We bought these to shut a door that does not have a knob. The door is heavy but this lock holds well. The length is adjustable. The cover to the adhesive is easy to remove and installation was quick. One would worry about breaking the lock, especially when opening the door as the lock part is thin. Opening with one hand is doable but not very easy.A bonus point is that these can be slipped into a narrow opening between cabinets since they are thin.

I got these for my fridge and freezer because my 2 year kept opening the doors and leaving it open.Easy installation, and easy enough for adults to open but hard enough that my 2 year old cannot open.
