Took a bit of measuring and trial and error. But this worked out to be a great replacement for a misplaced Thule threaded hitch pin! And reasonable cost to boot!

Got a steal on a Thule bike rack at a garage sale, but it was missing the hitch pin. I though a standard pin would fit, but no. This pin is threaded to use with the Thule design, and the lock secures the rack and the bikes attached to it. The 90-degree key angle is perfect (other locking pins make you squeeze the key in from the end, which is a tight fit on my Suburban). Quality is good, and everything works smoothly out of the box.

The Kuat bike racks for 1.25" receivers are a bit strange in that the hitch pin hole is placed in between where a 1.25" or 2" hole would normally be so that it can be used with either sized receiver. However, that means the holes don't line up and a standard 1/2" hitch pin won't fit! You have to use their included 3/8" hitch pin, but it's really long so it can slide from side to side, the safety clip only clips on the end and not through a hole, and you can't use a standard 1/2" locking hitch pin.Luckily this MaxxHaul threaded hitch locking pin is thin enough to fit through the misaligned holes, and is also cheaper than the Kuat locking pin. You can just ignore the threaded part, or I put an M12 nylon lock nut on to stop the pin from sliding side to side, as shown in the photo. The other side is held by the safety clip.

So I have a 1 and 1/4th Inch Thule bike rack with a 2-inch hitch adaptor. The Thule lock hitch was not long enough to go through so we needed an alternative. This thing works great and loves that problem. It has also helped with the sway of the bike rack.

I love a good deal- this might be the best deal of the year. Some thule branded threaded pins cost 5x the price of this one. The threads are tight and match up perfectly. The lock and key are both smooth. Really pleased with this purchase.

So the problem with this product is the length. It is way too long and it buts up against the trailer plug on the tesla for my old THULE bike rack. It was way too wobbly for my trip and I couldn’t figure out why. So the solution is I went to Home Depot and got a nut according to the specs of the thread and added some washers and I was able to tighten the bolt with a wrench and bam, no more wobble for $4 more and a trip to Home Depot. Also, the bolt does not go into the lock UNLESS the key is inserted. Quite annoying. It is a great price and does its job with a few hurdles. I don’t understand why they make the bolt so long. There is no trailer hitch that requires it to be this long. Hope this helps someone!

Screwed in perfectly for Thule classic t2 keys seem solid and lock does as well. It allows you to tighten to reduce sway

Was looking for a way to not spend close to $100 for a pin to secure my Thule bike rack, and honestly this is better than I expected. Affordable, but also solid and has worked really well. I'm very happy I purchased it.
