First time ever buying a box drum. Made amazing sound. However, my husband is a 6ft tall so I had to buy the talker one. Kept this one for the grandkids

ORIGINAL (2/10/2020): I was wanting to get into acoustic percussion playing and went with the trusted name of Meinl. I love this cajon for the dark color and after getting it, it sounds just as good as it looks. Obviously at this price point, you can't get everything (no pickup, no adjustable snare, etc.) but it will be great to learn on and use at small gigs. I look forward to playing this for many years to come.EDIT (2/13/2020): I made contact with the seller (GearNuts) with something unrelated to the integrity of the product or the shipping thereof. From a pure customer service standpoint, this seller is top notch in customer happiness. They responded quickly to my request and with an appropriate response. I have purchased from them before at reverb, and they will definitely continue to be top seller in my mind. They have been nothing short of great to work with and I really appreciate how they value customers.

I bought this for me after buying a mini cajon for my 9 year old. I somehow misread the description and thought this one was a full size one, so was a little surprised when I opened it on Christmas. That said, this is very solid construction and has great sound. I just needed a full size one for myself, as I have very little room on top of this one. I'm in a little danger of accidentally hitting myself instead of the cajon, lol.That being the only downside, and given that I can learn to account for that, I'm keeping this and not looking at returning it. I did take one star off of my review, but only because of the lack of room on the top for an adult. Everything else is 5 stars.

This cajon sounds and looks really nice! My 10 year old son (see pic) sat on it while he played, but I also was able to sit comfortably on it. My stocky husband thought it was a tad small for him to sit on, but for a kid or teen or "average-to-petite" adult, it's great! Beautiful wood, rich sounds (even unmic'ed) and lightweight/easy to transport!

Compact and sweet. Has a good sound for it’s size. If you want something that’s easier to carry around and yet good sounding you shouldn’t go wrong with this.
