There has to be a reason that America's Test Kitchen called this their number one choice. It really does grate things quickly and easily. After spending almost 15 minutes trying to grate enough ginger for a teaspoon and a half with my old grater, I checked around online, found the ATK video and ordered one. I grated some of the same ginger root, making 2 teaspoons, in about a minute and a half. This thing is sharp and gets the job done. Well worth the $19. And it cleans easily and has a plastic cover to keep it clean and sharp while stored. By the way, it is the best tool I've had for making lemon, lime or orange zest.

This is my favorite and I use it every day. It perfectly grates Parmesan, and related hard cheeses, nutmeg, lemon/orange/lime rinds and garlic, ginger easy and effectively. easy to clean and a total kitchen staple. I have ten different graters and this one is the best. Buy it, you’ll love it!

I don’t know how graters can be so different but this one makes it easier to grate anything. I resisted buying yet another grater but I used it to grate ginger at another house and found it was easier than my grater at home by huge margin. Much easier and faster. Worth buying!

An essential tool for finely grating small quantities of hard cheeses, ginger, citrus rind zests and spices like nutmeg. The form is very convenient and easy to use, but the handle will break off with rough treatment. Do not tap to release grated material.
