I got the 28 gallon model today via Amazon's prime two days delivery :) packaging was strong and compact. I have to say the instruction booklet is very informative and accurate.... Probably one of the best assembly booklets I've seen in my life and I am not a young guy :)) I followed the instruction exactly especially aligning the panel where the logo is. The unit was sturdy and nice looking. It took me about 40 minutes to complete the assembly. The two screws that secured the center rod were a bit of a challenge to put on. Perhaps the spec of the two holes are a little smaller but I managed to secure the screws on slowly and patiently without stripping the screws. For all the snap-on fitting, I went over them about three times to make sure they are secured to prevent unnecessary leaks (Very important). The six yellow small snap-on clasps in the middle of the main barrel hopefully will not be hardened and cracked in time. That seems to be the part that might be an issue in the future.I will bring the unit out to the backyard tomorrow and start putting in the compost ingredients already set aside to feed this new organic equipment :) 28 gallon is a great capacity and will be an effort to find more ingredients to fill it up. I will probably go to Starbucks and see if they can give me coffee grounds since I don't make coffee at home ... I also know a Chinese restaurant owner who I can probably get veggie scraps from... Have to be resourceful to get more compost materials :))Once I filled up this 28 gallon unit, I will get another single compost unit while this one would cook until finished. If the field test for this Miracle-Gro unit is satisfactory , I probably repeat the purchase so the pair will look great next to each other.I know the Miracle-Gro twin barrels model @ Amazon is cheaper than getting the two single unit separately. I flavored this approach because the single unit base is hard plastic while the double barrels model has a metal rack which I worry will rust in time and it appears weaker than the original plastic base. 56 gallons could be too heavy for the metal base to support.Just my two cents, hope you will find it helpful. Happy composting :)

The unit is easy to build and works well. However, the legs are a bit flimsy and it cannot support too much weight. So small batches. I'm able to get a little more in mine only because I have it propped against a fence on one side, and a cinder block on the other to keep the legs pinned. Without the support it would buckle over. If you're doing small scraps it would be perfect, but if doing serious compost for gardening another system would be preferable.

Easy to put together, but what's holding it together seemed a bit light so added duct tape all over where the pieces come together. So far after 1.5 months it's holding up nicely and easy to turn and use.

This is my second composter and I prefer the smaller size so that I can actually turn the tumbler. This is sturdier than I thought and was relatively easy to assemble. The only problem is that when I slide open the door, there is nothing to stop it from sliding off and onto the ground, so I'll add a stopper of some type to prevent that.

In less than one week this product has failed. I followed the assembly directions exactly as shown, but it does not hold together. The pieces are flimsy, and they "click" together. Although all pieces clicked together, once I filled the drum with kitchen scraps and leaves (about 3/4 full), the weight caused the side to split open, and the legs are bowing. I cannot get the sides to click back together and stay together. I would return it, but the box is already off to recycling and the return shipping would be too expensive. I would not recommend this to anyone.

My wife was wanting a composter so I got her this one. It has worked perfectly for us. It's sturdy and easily to assemble. We were filling it up all summer and its held tough. By this upcoming summer we should have some nice compost for our garden. I'm excited to see how well it works.

I just love it. So easy to put together and very light weight. I have ordered a second one since the first one was slightly damaged in a hail storm. It did take 2 1/2" hail and held up great only a few holes. I was very happy that a little duck tape to cover holes and it still works great.

The chamber was not fairly easy to assemble. The panels snap together. The problem is that when you start adding items to the chamber to compost the chamber comes apart where it is snapped together. Wish I had not bought it. I would suggest that if you do decide to purchase that you glue the panels together or drill holes and secure with screws.

I like how I can roll it to mix it. It said on the box that it would take 20-30 mins to build and it ended up taking myself and my friend over an hour, we could not get some of it to click into place

Legs suck large. They can not withstand any weight other than the composted itself. Very flimsy and it never produced any compost, despite my best efforts. Don’t waste your money. Was expecting WAY more from Miracle Grow.
