After I receive my transmission back from the shop and immediately leaked from the pan before I even started the engine. My builder then gave me a black rubber pan gasket. It also leaks after I started my engine. I bought the Moro so gasket As a last option before I changed transmissions. Needless to say, no more leaks. From here on out I will always use a Moroso so gasket

I have an C-4 Trans that had a leak. I bought a TCI cast pan and the cork gasket went completely flat so much so that the hex screws were loose. I purchased this Gasket (very Expensive) but worth the money. The gasket is very thick and has a metal piece inside the gasket. It took about a half an hour to tighten up. The gasket actually is extruding out of the pan, maybe a 1/16 or1/8 of an inch when I was done. NO MORE LEAKS! You need something to hold the gasket in place while you attempt to attach to the Trans. I used a Permagasket product, but a 3M general purpose trim adhesive would have worked better. I used a bottle jack to hold the heavy aluminum pan in place.

Gasket leaked from the moment I put it on. After doing a little research, found that Moroso recommends torque of 10 ft pounds. This did not stop the leak, in fact it made it worse. This gasket is not good for a stock C4 pan, at 10 ft pounds of torque, it ruined the pan. Might be good with a cast pan but I would not buy this gasket again.

Best product for a common problem, use withRV black gasket sealant, requires careful, slow gradual tightening of bolts to specs. No other gasket material worked as well. Only sure solution is a very expensive aluminum pan

It is not hard plastic, as has been claimed, it is a silicon coating around a metal core and is by far the best sealing device for this application. Tackles minor surface defects and surfaces that weren't necessarily cleaned with the proper care and does it with ease. Don't be swayed by one persons review that has no idea how this piece should be used. Use no additional sealants- stays in place on its own. Tighten the pan progressively to 10-14 ft-lbs in a crossed pattern to avoid pushing or pinching gasket material and with properly prepared surfaces the pan won't leak and can even be reused- though I am not sure if the manufacturer endorses the reuse.

I went with an aluminum deep sump pan on my C4, and couldn't get it to seal right. This seals it up without any issues.

Gasket went on and sealed just fine. Drove car to park 5 miles away and my kids home 15 miles away with no leaks. Drove to girlfriends house 25 miles away in 99 degree Houston heat and noticed a small puddle under car in a restaurant parking lot. Got home 3 hours later and gasket seemed squeezed in too much like play-dough on some sides, even though torque to specs! Touched a bulge where leak is and gasket was torn! It could be 3 factors: 1. Tighten bolts less than specs but run risk of leaks. 2. Though I attempted to hammer my pan edges as straight as I could but maybe not good enough. Maybe need perfectly flat new pan for this gasket. 3. 98 degree temps outside too much for rubber gaskets.

Would not recommend this gasket, it leaks oil around bolt holes.
