Very simple yet functional design. 3 AAA batteries is all it takes. Light comes on only after dark when you open the mailbox door. I put it high on the back wall but the vibration from opening the door caused it to slide down the back to the bottom edge. It works fine from there too.

This is so handy to have in mailbox . Especially with time change and checking mail at dark . It’s pretty bright . Works as described.

Easy to install and lights up the inside of the mailbox well but the magnet needs to be stronger as the light sometimes falls off the wall.

My mailbox is metal and magnets work on it. But it also comes with a stick you can use to hold it in place if your mail box can't handle magnets. It only lights up when its dark out and turns off after about 20 seconds. That is more then enough time for me to grab my mail. I put in fresh batteries and the light is very very bright to me. It was easy to install. (Remove back cover, insert batteries, put cover back on. Stick in mailbox. I think it will hold up over time. I only wish I had found this years ago. Its a good value for the money. I have used battery operated lights outside and I usually a year out of them in other products so I am guessing this time next year I may need new batteries.

I was excited about this motion light since we installed an extra large deep mailbox. I put in brand new Duracell batteries and in less than a month it stopped working. The weather has been mild so I can’t even attribute it to freezing temperatures that might kill a battery. I’ll be returning this back to Amazon tomorrow.Pros - easy to install; strong magnet; bright light (when it was working)

I purchased this in March of 2022 and it just stopped working now in February 2025. I secured it with velcro tape.I'm ordering another mailbox light today.
