I did not end up installing it because the directions state not to use it unattended, and it only has low, high and off, no thermostat. I sold it and the new buyer put it in his garage and loves it.

I purchased this to replace my parents older furnace and it works wonderful in their kitchen! My dad is 64 and had it hooked up within minutes.

Sure would like to like this but there's no safety glass??!!! Just a giant gapped "crash cage" type covering the totally exposed flame? No response from Northern Tool and Amazon says can't return. May as well drag your gas grill into your house. Should've heeded the "no customer service from Northern Tool" post. It's true! Now what do I do? So lame.Updated 7dec23Super easy installation in basement. Burns fine but doesn't RAGE like I was hoping. Heating 235sq ft. basement takes 3hr+ to go from low 50s to 70 or so on Hi. Wife says it's smelly but I can't tell. Will continue using for now until I find something bigger/quicker. Monumentally cheaper than electric and the flame is super cute and hypnotizing.

I bought two of these for a small (1,000 SF) house. I thought I'd probably need to add a third, but that has not been the case. I had them professionally installed just to be on the safe side; installers were impressed with the quality. They are floor mounted and the feet supplied are stable. Although I made sure to allow a lot of clearance on both sides of the heaters, it turns out that the heat flows upward with almost no transfer to the sides. Having this version (10,000 BTU) of the heater with just the two settings (low and high) hasn't been a problem. And the fact that they look like R2-D2 is an added bonus!!!

This little heater has been keeping our garage above 50 degrees even when it’s been in the single digits here. That said, in the fall when temps were in the 30’s and 40’s, the garage got too hot. I did not realize this heater does not have a thermostat! We have to remember to turn it off in the morning. I wouldn’t have bought it had I done better research, I would have stepped up to the 20k. I probably will do that in the spring, so kinda wasted my money.

The gas hookup should be on the back, not the bottom or they should have included a 90 degree elbow. (at least in my case) Installation was easy and straight forward. I bought a hose and adapter kit with this. Total time was probably less than 30 min. I bought it to keep the garage above freezing.

I purchased this product at a competitive price and hired a professional to install it. He had no problems installing this heater. It is easy to operate and does an excellent job heating up my bedroom.

I bought one three months ago. It keeps randomly shutting off. I tried contacting distributor and/or manufacturer and they don't respond.
