While the description says transparent, the role we received is actually white. Since we use this on outside stairs that lead to our side door, it's not an issue, but if you are concerned about the aesthetics, maybe see if this brand actually makes a transparent version. We were very excited to see that when placed on a dry day, they stopped the slippery feeling on the steps when the rains came. It's a heavily trafficked area because we tend to use this door more than our front door. It's been in place for a few weeks now and hasn't lifted up at all. If we determined that it's not as durable as it seems, I will come back and give an update. As far as I can tell, we recommend this product for areas that are slippery when wet. Also a good value at time over review it is listed as $7.99.

This anti-slip tape is amazing and keeps my rug from moving. I use a small portion on all corners and it works great! It’s very easy to cut to the desired length and applied to any surface you need.

The Mr. Pen- Transparent Anti Slip Tape is really plague white and not transparent. That's ok because the pictures show that.It has a grilling / sandy texture. Installation is easy. The hardest part is cleaning the surface well first.This is installed on an internal wood stairway from the garage to the main home. The stairs are not part of the living space so plague white works. For hardwood stairs in the living area, I would stick with transparent.Let's see how long this lasts before I up the ratings to 5 stars.

Really great for making anything slip proof! Used this on some plastic toddler chairs and it's so much safer!
