So far so good. Kia dealer didn’t tell us that we aren’t supposed to use the level 1 charger that the car (Kia sportage plug in hybrid) came with for regular charging. Had to find that out by reading the manual. Don’t have an extra 220 outlet for a level 2, so tried the split volt system. Works great by sharing the 30 amp dryer plug with the EV charger. The system transitions between dryer and car as described. Only 3 days in but seems great. Not cheap but so convenient if you don’t have enough household juice to add a new 220-240 plug. And way less cost than paying an electrician thousands of $$ to add another plug. Takes about 2 hours for a full charge.

I bought a Tesla and wanted to use my existing dryer outlet since it was right next to garage. This literally plugs right in and it's good to go. I can charge my car and when I need to use the dryer it automatically transfers the power and when the dryer cycle is done it goes right back to charging the car. It's totally silent and barely gets warm. A+Update: I have been using this daily for the past 6 months to charge my Tesla. I have almost 4000kwh on it now. Not once has it given me a single issue. Awesome product!

I'll be honest - I was nervous about making this purchase. While I don't want to spend $2000+ running wiring from our electrical panel (opposite of the house) to our garage to charge our Tesla, I also don't want our house to burn down due to using a bad product. This has worked great so far. Switches perfectly between the dryer and the car. It gets warm, but not at all hot. I would expect some heat due to the power running through it, so it's all within expected ranges. I'm a fan, recommending it to a few friends.

I needed a three-prong splitter for the 30 Amp dryer outlet in my garage. Splitvolt had the best reviews, and has the option for three-prong outlets. It was simple to hang on the wall in my garage. It works exactly as described and disables the EV outlet when the dryer is on. This model is quiet, no hum or vibration during EV charging. The cords are heavy duty and stays cool during the dryer cycle or the EV charger. I opted to purchase the three-prong split volt charging cord too. Works great, I am able to fill up my Ioniq-5 easily going from 30% to 90% overnight.

COMPLETE JUNK. STOPPED WORKING AFTER 6 MONTHS. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS FRIENDLY AND ACCOMODATING, HOWEVER THEY SENT A REFURBISHED UNIT WHICH LASTED FOR 1 HOUR. TERRIBLE PRODUCT. DO NOT BUY.

I never knew this existed or that it was possible to use the dryer plug. I moved to a new house in a remote rural area. My house in the city had a 50amp circuit. I found one electrician that will come out here to install a 50 amp plug for $2800. I saw this ordered it last Monday it arrived on Friday. I plugged it in and was charging the car at 24 Amps 240 volts in less than 30 minutes. I bought this and a new 24 amp charger and still saved $2200. It works exactly as described. The only downside is that I am running the cord out the door and can’t close the door with the cord but it’s in the laundry room and not a huge issue Definitely would recommend this.

Received the unit about a week ago, and is working as expected so far. Purchased for charging our EV using our standard 240 volt dryer plug. The unit does indeed divert power from the EV to the dryer when the dryer is turned on, and switches back to charging the EV when the dryer is finished. Charges our ev’s 60 kWh battery much faster than the 110 volt/15 amp circuit used before. Can’t speak to the long term operation of the device, but so far so good.

Plugged inside beside my dryer with the primary plugged into the dryer.The EV plug runs through the wall into the garage where I set up an outlet.Then I could freely plug my Tesla mobile plug 14-50 into.Charging cuts out when the dryer is in use then can restart on its own when the dryer is done.

Out of the box, the device feels very solid and very well built. I like this design (with a pigtail) better than the one that is plugged directly into the outlet, as the dryer outlet doesn't have to carry the whole weight of the switch and the two plugs. I hang this on a wall and plug the cord into the dryer outlet. We have just received it so will see about the durability / reliability over time.

When I try to test what the product is intended to, it trip my house breaker instead of the product’s breaker. I even turned my teslas charger down to 20amps and still only trigger my house’s breaker.I tried to charge my Tesla and turn on my dryer at the same time, at first it auto switched to giving power to the dryer, but after few minutes it tripped my house breaker AGAIN! I needed to plug my dryer to the wall without using the switcher in order to keep the dryer running without tripping the breaker! This is not how the product suppose to behave at all!
