They're soft and easy to clean off pretty much all surfaces with a wet cloth. I put them in chalk holders as one of my kids' favorite part of playing with anything stick-shaped is breaking it in half. But I'm happy with them, they do wear down a little fast but that's why I got the big box.

This chalk is nice with the holders but it doesn’t erase very easily, which could be good depending what you’re using it for.

Love it. We got a kitchen helper stand for our toddler and it had chalkboards on the sides. We didn't want dusty chalky inside so we decided to try these and I'm so happy we did. They write so nice, they're easy for his little hands to hold without breaking it. The only thing you have to know is clean it up when you're done. Don't let it sit for days before wiping it up or it will leave faint traces behind. That being said, we've forgotten to wipe it up right away a few times, and once you've drawn back over it and wipe it again, it's basically back to clean and new again.
