I've owned this for several years and got this for a gift. Bulky to store but I like the old-fashioned design. Sifts well.

Compared to the other generally available type of sifter that employs a squeeze-mechanism in the handle, this is far and away superior, for 2 reasons. (1) This one is cleanable!!! Because it has only one screen at the bottom, all of the flour or other material can be easily washed out when you are done sifting. The squeeze-style sifters use multiple permanently pressed-in screens, and are prone to having materials getting stuck in between but never sifting all the way through. (2) This one is much easier on the fingers and hands. My wife has hand issues that would make using repetitive squeezing of the other sifter type impossible. Even I found that style to be extremely fatiguing very quickly when sifting even a small amount of flour. This sifter, on the other hand, with a crank style sifter mechanism, is very easy to use for longer periods of time without causing undue fatigue to the hands and fingers.I wish I could have found a better made sifter in general, with a heavier duty construction and sifting mechanism, but as I was unable to find such a tool, this was the best I could find, and so far it seems to satisfy the need.

This sifter works fine, but it is way smaller than you expect. It holds maybe a cup of flour at a time. It does let flour fly out of the top if you turn the handle fast, but I found that a lid from a sour cream container or a large yogurt tub fits it nicely and keeps the flour inside the canister.

The material feels a bit flimsy but holds up, I put it in the dishwasher and it survived unharmed so very happy about that. It’s the crank that is the problem. It jams and is not a fluid motion, it also pushes the flour up to one side so you have to shake it and then reverse to bring it back down. It’s definitely not high quality but eventually gets the job done.

This is dollar store quality at best. It's built incredibly flimsy, feels cheap, and the crank turns very stiff. I almost never leave bad reviews and this will probably be lost in the sea of positive ones but the price gouge is ridiculous.

Although it says 3 cups...it would actually hold 3 cups in the flour was right to the top...which is not the best given that as soon as you turn the handle you get flour everywhere.
