I was originally concerned by comments that it didn't work with 9.5 inch pie pans. When I received it I saw the concern. I typically trimmed my crust to the edge of the glass pie pan. The shield was too small to cover the crust edge. The trick. After the crust is in the pan, press the shield onto the crust like a cookie cutter. Then trim around the shield with a knife. Perfect crusts every time..

Why did it take me so long to buy one of these? Works just as intended. No more trying to get a strip of foil to stay on the pie crust. I don't often bake more than one pie at a time, but I may buy another one just in case.

I would think that if they were going to sell a pie pan they would make sure the pie shield would work with it. Nope not at all. That was specifically what I bought both from them.

This fits perfectly on a frozen pie shell. I am a disabled senior with balance issues. This contributed to perfect pumpkin pies for a Seniors bake sale. Easy to use easy to clean.
