I love a good steamed hot dog but we always ended up with soggy rolls when using a double boiler. This unit works amazing! We did 10 Maine Red Snapper dogs and 6 rolls in under 20 minutes and they were steamed to perfection!

Been looking for a reasonably priced hot dog steamer and this one completely fits the bill. You get that quality hot dog cart vendor taste from this steamer right in your own kitchen anytime you’re in the mood for one!This was simple to setup and get started. On my trial run I put the water in the base and turned the steamer on high for about 15 minutes before placing just 2 bun length all beef hotdogs in the tray. (There is plenty of room for many more dogs) It only took about 5 minutes for the dogs to cook then I put 2 buns in the top compartment for only about 30 seconds to 1 minute and they came out perfectly soft and steamy without being soggy or wet. With that being said, be mindful of a lot of condensation that collects on the underside of the lid when removing it because the water can drip on your buns if you’re not careful. The only water that was present on the countertop when finished was condensation from opening and closing the hotdog compartment tray.Likewise, it was a breeze to take apart and clean when finished. The owners manual recommends to only wash this by hand and not in the dishwasher. The base of the steamer where the hot plate is housed must be wiped clean and never submerged in water while cleaning.The steamer and the handles are made entirely of plastic (even though the handles appear to be chrome, they are plastic) which feels a little cheap and flimsy however I’m sure that if it’s not abused it should hold up. There is a slight plastic/new appliance smell to it right out of the box but after I washed it in warm soapy water and used it the first time the smell seemed to dissipate. It did not have any adverse effect on the taste of the food.I placed a ruler in the photos to show approximate dimensions of the steamer.Very happy with this purchase and hope it lasts for many years.

This is an excellent little steamer. My 16 yo son opened it on Christmas and has already used it a number of times. I can always wish it was dishwasher safe, but I suspect the plastic would deform. Really though, this is mis-marketed as a “hotdog steamerâ€. It’s a general food steamer, plain and simple. I tried it already with some Asian style frozen dumplings, and it steamed those very nicely also.

Initially bought this for my sons circus themed birthday party, but wound up using it every Saturday for our summer cornhole tournaments held at our house. It is very durable, and the hot dogs are amazing! The buns do get a little stale if you leave them in the top section for too long, but otherwise this is a great addition to our weekends.

Lo hemos usado varias veces y es bastante sencillo, práctico y rápido, lo recomiendo, lo que sà es que es pequeño, si lo quieres para hacer varios hot dogs al mismo tiempo será más complicado, para unas 4 personas está bien
