I really enjoy playing around with this smoking gun to add notes of smoke aromas to different dishes and drinks. My favorite use so far is to add a little apple wood smoke to a pork loin right before serving. The showman ship for your guest when they get to remove the cover and get a whiff of the smoke as their food is revealed is easily worth the price of entry.Note that this does not produce flavors you would expect from smoking meat. There is not near enough time for the smoke to penetrate the meat while cooking. Instead it adds the aroma of the smoke to the outside of the food. This is really useful for less full bodied flavors such as oysters where a little smoke can complement nicely. Do not buy if you are trying to get smokehouse flavor in your food.

My wife surprised me with this for my birthday and not only is this thing is so simple to use albut it brings new life to tired recipes and inspires you to experiment with new ideas! I just made a smoked bourbon cherry ice cream with this that blew my mind! And I can finally make my own smoked old fashioneds!
