I use this for saddle hunting and it’s so much better than a quick link. It sits closer to the tree, faster to open and close, weighs less than quick link that has a opening big enough for my 11 mm rope. If I didn’t keep my quick link oriented correctly with nut away from tree once I applied my weight to rope it would over tighten my quick link and then i might as well have used a sewn eye, the quickie never gets stuck and opening is big enough I can add a bit to my rope and the added friction would keep my rope from falling when I unweighted my rope.
