Removed and install wheel bearings and hubs on Honda S2000. Recommend a 27mm box wrench and 24mm socket with breaker bar for use with this tool. (See photo of hub install for illustration) Relatively straightforward instructions that took little time to choose the correct parts of the tool to assemble in the right order to perform the different operations. Worked to remove the hubs and the wheel bearing without any issue. Having a large 27mm wrench for the back screw and a long breaker bar for the 24 mm socket to break the parts free made it possible to apply plenty of leverage/torque. Did not resort to impact or power tools as the manufacturer specifies. Install was smooth and encountered no issues overall.

I needed to do a rear wheel bearing on my 2000 Porsche Boxster. I was told to purchase a SIR Hub removal tool with an MSRP of over $1,000! Considering paying a mechanic for the job would only be $900 I started looking for other options. This hub removal tool worked perfectly and now I have one less job on my maintenance to-do list.

I was very much looking forward to having this kit to use for future repairs, but it did not hold up at all. After just a single use, the adapter plate bent. I used it according to the directions. I did not use an impact, or misuse it in any other way. So far every tool I have bought from OEM has either been defective in the package, or just did not hold up to even light use. I will not be buying from them again.

I was working on a 2004 Toyota Sequoia 2wd front wheel bearing. been working a vehicles for 38 years professionally. This was one of the toughest wheel bearing I've ever replaced. The hub was very tight. It bent the lock ring when removing. had to hammer on the hub even with the tool installed. But it finally came out. Due to the size of the bearing, it does not have a large enough cup to properly fit the back of the spindle to correctly push the hub back into the new bearing. But like most shops, I have several different bearing tools and had the correct size setup I needed in another kit.

I bought this tool because I borrowed it a lot at my last shop and it's a time saver and as a mechanic your time is important and this tool gets the job done with ease, I highly recommend it!

The unit works just as described and shown in OEM Tools videos. Working on my 2003 Toyota Camry, the tool made removal and installation of the press-fit hub and wheel bearings an easy job. However, this required using an impact wrench to turn the jackscrew, just as was shown in the videos. The problem is that the instructions that came with the unit expressly state that pneumatic tools are NOT to be used. The reason for this is that the provided thrust bearing for the jackscrew is drastically inadequate for these loads.Per instructions, I lubricated the jackscrew with high-pressure grease before use. However, there were no provisions for similarly lubricating the thrust bearing, so I used WD-40 as was shown in the videos. I lubricated the bearing each time before applying force with the tool, but this was insufficient. By the time I was pressing in the hub, there ware metal particles in the oil drops coming out of the thrust bearing: A clear indication of bearing failure after servicing only one wheel. If used as shown in the videos, the thrust bearing will likely last for only one full service, including both right and left wheel bearings. After this, the bearing will need to be replaced. This was also noted in several reviews of the virtually identical OEM Tools Part #27213. On balance, the rest of the hardware is top-notch and should last indefinitely given proper use and maintenance. In summary: An absolutely great tool with a glaring, single point of failure. The unit will do the intended job quite well but expect to almost immediately purchase a new, substantially upgraded thrust bearing for continued use. The alternative is to remove the thrust bearing altogether and replace it with a small hand-held hydraulic press such as those used for hole punches.

Does not pull bearings, tool bent while attempting bearing removal. Does a great job of installing, which a bolt and washers can do for 1/100th of the cost.
