I was a bit leery after reading some of the reviews for this cutter, but had not found anything that sounded any better, and I trust this brand. Not a lot of instructions, but not a lot of moving parts, so "setup" was not hard. And it cut a perfect circle on the second attempt. Love the ratchet handle. The paper did bunch on my first attempt, but I taped the paper to the cutting mat second time, and that solved the bunching problem. I've cut a lot of circles since yesterday, and, like any other rotary cutting blade, this one is beginning to dull. Replacements won't be here until tomorrow - that would be my only suggestion here -- charge another dollar or two, but include a couple replacement blades. I did cut circles from very small to almost 8" (the max cut) without any problem, using both standard copy paper and a medium weight cardstock. Heavier paper requires more pressure, but it works. Tried it on a scrap of some cotton quilting fabric, and the result is a 9 out of 10, but with a fresh blade it should work just fine. This is a good product that does what it is supposed to!

This product works fine for me. I’m using heavy duty cardstock and so far I’ve cut 100 circles with it and I think I need to replace the blade before the do the next 100. I will say that it’s faster and neater than using scissors, but has other small pitfalls. It is NOT comfortable to use by any stretch of the imagination. My hands feel pretty torn up. At some point about half way through I ended up wrapping part of a sponge around the handle and trying to hold it by that. I also wish it spin both ways because if I miss a bit I have to swing the arm all the way around to get it.I understand what some are saying about there being a wobble, but if you’re paying attention and using consistent force all the way around it’s not really an issue. I used a cutting mat and pressed the pointed center anchor all the way into the mat to secure it.I’m purchasing a pack of extra blades to help finish my project.

I used this when covering a gas tank with vinyl wrap. It cut the perfect size hole to go around the gas fill opening. It cut the vinyl very easily and came out perfect. This is a great tool.

This Olfa circle cutter makes fabric circle cutting fairly quick and easy.It arrives in its most compact form, with the center pin-like portion capped and slid close to the blade area. The blade also comes in its most compact form. In order to cut with the blade, you actually need to remove the blade so you can slide the blade guard out to shield the blade in the cutting position, then replace the blade. This enables you to use the blade guard when not cutting. The guard slides in or out after you have repositioned the blade, but if the blade is left in the shipping position, the guard won't move.I had to use a separate ruler to measure the spacing from the center point to the outer radius of the blade in order to get the right circle size. I used the ruler again to find the center or my fabric square to cut it into a circle. This cutter works best on fabrics little to no stretch in them like quilting cotton, flannel, or felt. I have to provide extra blade pressure to cut thicker fabrics like denim. When I used the cutter on jegging fabric to make a jeans quilt from old jeans, I had to keep smoothing out and repositioning the fabric due to the stretch from the spandex content. I still got circles, but had to do some follow up trimming with scissors. The quilting cotton cut quickly and easily.I also have the Creative Grids Savvy Circle ruler. It works best for quilting cotton, while this circle cutter is better for thicker, stretchier fabrics like Minky, denim, or fleece.

This is THE WORST "tool" I have ever came into contact with. I am not dumb, I am an electrician by trade. I use a lot of tools. I should have known better based on the price of this thing that it would be complete crap. I bought it specifically for cutting circles out of denim for a denim quilt. You have to go around the circle 10 times or more to get it to cut. The fabric wrinkles up as you turn it which makes the circles come out looking like ovals. That is if you can even get it to cut. I have cut out a lot of circles by hand. I was hoping that this tool would alleviate pain on my fingers of using scissors. I actually would prefer bruised and cramped fingers over using this thing. Don't buy it. You will regret it. The one I received was not in Japanese like other people had commented. It was written in English and French. I tried to return it and it says its not refundable. I emailed Amazon, we will see if they will let me send it back or credit me. I am going to purchase a different kind of rotary cutter, probably one that is made for leather. I didn't feel like denim would be an issue but it clearly is. If you are getting this to cut denim, I hate to say it, but just cut them circles out by hand. Don't try this on good fabric or you will wreck your project. Seriously, this thing is complete junk. NOT SATISFIED.

I do custom framing, cut lots of Mat Board. Always wanted to be able to cut circles in the Matboard. Even from the reviews on this product, I didn't hold out much hope, as most people just use it on paper. Thought I'd take a chance anyway. IT DOES CUT A PERFECT CIRCLE THRU MATBOARD! You have to press good and hard, but it's sturdy enough to handle the pressure. Just ordered a bunch of back up blades, as I'll be using this circle cutter for a long time.

Muy buena calidad, aunque un poco caro para lo que es.

A precise and indispensible tool for anyone cutting circles in fabrics or card. The protrusion of the cutting wheel will limit the thickness of the material being cut, but is perfectly adequate for most applications. When cutting thin, flexible fabrics, it is adviseable to stretch and fix the material to the cutting mat to avoid wrinkling.A tip to extend the cutter radius is to totally unscrew the point assembly from the cutter body, reverse it, and then re-attach it. This will give about 15mm more radius. All in all a great tool - should, however, be supplied with a spare cutting wheel.
