About this item

  • 24” blade – The HT275 has a 24” blade for a long reach. The blade has laser-cut teeth for cleaner, more precise cuts resulting in healthier plants. The teeth have a one-inch cutting capacity allowing you to cut thick shrubs. Dual-action blades provide smooth cutting action while reducing vibration and noise.
  • Extended run time – The 4.0 Ah lithium ion battery provides 100 minutes of constant no-fade power on a single charge for fast and consistent trimming. The variable speed trigger increases run time and control
  • Lightweight, ergonomic design – Weighing in at just 10 pounds, the HT275 is comfortable to use, even during long projects. Balanced handle placement allows for comfortable operation
  • The convenience and quiet you expect from a cordless trimmer – No pull cords, no warm-up and no gas-oil mixing. Significantly quieter than a gas trimmer to keep your ears and neighbors happy
  • Interchangeable batteries – Our 40V batteries can be used on other all Oregon Cordless products so you can fuel the entire Oregon Cordless family using just one battery, including our chainsaw, leaf blower, pole saw and string trimmer/edger, as well as many more cordless tools.

The HT275 Cordless Hedge Trimmer features a 24" blade with laser-cut teeth for a long reach and cleaner cutting, resulting in healthier plants. The variable speed trigger increases control and run time. Capable of cutting branches up to 1" in diameter, the HT275 delivers up to 100 minutes of trigger time on a single charge. When accounting for other aspects of the job, this trigger time can equate to total project times of up to 3 hours. The HT275 operates at 3300 rpm. The HT275 cordless hedge trimmer is part of the Oregon Power Now battery platform, so the battery and charger can also be used on Oregon's entire line of 40v cordless tools, including our chainsaw, leaf blower, pole saw, string trimmer/edger, lawnmower, and many more. The platform provides the ultimate in power and performance. Lithium Ion technology provides for a better customer experience with features such as longer run times, constant no-fade power, no memory effect, and the ability for the battery packs to hold their charge for months in storage.

I own an older Makita electric hedge trimmer, which I never use because the cord is unbearable. I also own a high end Swisher gas powered hedge trimmer with articulating blades. The HT250 compliments the gas trimmer very well. You can't beat the power and convenient reach you get with the gas unit, but it comes with the price of weight, noise, warm-up time, and the occasional sting if you come in contact with a hot section of exposed motor. For the big jobs I will still pull out the gas unit.I've only used the HT250 for a few hours of trimming, and the blades are as sharp as they will ever be. Only time will tell how well things work as the blades dull and become sticky with sap. I also have the Oregon chainsaw which I like, and that experience led me to try out this trimmer. With the B400e battery the unit weighs 9.8 pounds which is a good bit heavier than an electric trimmer and probably will tire some people fairly quickly. For the work I did, I think I would get at least an hour of continuous use, but that's with full speed on the trigger and lots of cutting load on the blades, but I can't see 2 hours. My guess is 2 hours is for moderate trigger speed, cutting "air". You can do a lot of trimming in an hour, I think it's plenty. The noise levels are much better than a gas unit, but it is still kind of noisy. I would expect the neighbors to be very aware that you are trimming. The safety switch seems like something that might be a weak part of the system. To enable the trigger, you use your thumb to slide a switch down at the same time as you pull the trigger with your finger(s). Once it engages you can let the thumb switch go, thankfully, but I can feel some things fighting each other if you pull the trigger and the thumb switch is part way on ... it seems like an opportunity to crack some plastic in the mechanism. All in all, the result that I was able to get using the HT250 was very good. The only improvement I would want would be an articulating blade/extension option, then it would be perfect.

I have other Oregon products. Love my blower. Also have weed wacker and edger which I like but stopped working. Sent back to the company, since still under warranty. Said they would replace it but haven’t heard a thing and that was 5 months ago!? The hedge trimmer works ok but is almost too heavy for me to hold high and trim those dang hedges. I’m just 5’ 2” but pretty strong for my size Thought of returning it but will hang on to it.

I've purchased a lot of tools in my lifetime. I mean, a lot of tools. But I can count on one hand the ones that I would buy again without question or reconsideration. This is one of them.First, I have to say that this is the first and only powered hedge trimmer I've used or owned, so I have no similar tools to compare it to. I've gotten by with hand shears my whole life. But I had so much trimming to do, it was time to take the plunge. I already had the Oregon PS250 pole saw with the 2.6AH battery, so I purchased the trimmer without a battery. I used the trimmer for about 3 hours, and still had 50% battery life left. The trimmer cuts extremely well, and super fast. It does in fact cut through green 3/4" branches (Yew, Boxwood, Barberry, and Honeysuckle), but it does need to chew on those bigger branches a little bit. On typical smaller branches, it cuts effortlessly and very cleanly. What would have taken me two hours with hand shears took 15 minutes with this trimmer.Balance is very good, and while it can get a bit heavy after extended use, its weight is in the same range as other similar trimmers. The good balance helps to delay fatigue, and by the time I was truly tired, it was time to start raking up trimmings anyway. I have no complaints at all. It's well-designed, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I would most definitely buy this trimmer again. I wish I could have bought it years ago.

I have the Oregon cordless line trimmer which is great. So, I was happy to be able to order the hedge trimmer without the battery and charger to save some money and unnecessary equipment. The hedge trimmer is surprisingly light and I find it very safe to use compared to a chain saw. Also, the battery I think 2.06 amps lasts a ridiculously long time. I use it to keep manzanita and chamise bushes trimmed low to the ground for fire prevention. It works great on all the twiggy bits but takes a while to chew anything thicker than 1/2".

I like this hedge trimmer a lot. I have the little 14" Oregon chainsaw which I really love for trail work I do in the Green Mountains. It's light and easy to use. So I picked this up for use with the two batteries I already have. I previously had manual hedge trimmers so anything with a motor in it would be a big step up. These trimmers worked well and the battery lasted way beyond the amount of work I had to do. As some had said it's not going to blow you away with outright power and it's going to struggle through 3/4" branches but it gets the job done just fine. Next I'm going to get the Oregon blower.

I grow Christmas trees, and I need to shear about 6 acres of trees per year. I thought I'd give this a try as it seemed much better than using manual shears or a pruning knife. Swipe it up and down the sides of the trees and I'm done in no time. With the 6 Ah battery, I can work for 2.5-3 hours straight. I run out of juice before it does...I also cut my trees with the Oregon CS300 chainsaw. My customers are impressed, and I must have sold about 10 of them by referrals last year alone. Thanks Oregon!

Works well with my Oregon battery for my other tools. The performance of the tool was not great. It seemed to want to "skip over" many of the arb, holly and juniper branches. Maybe the teeth are not sufficiently spaced or the reciprocation is too fast? Seemed like I had to hold it in place to get it to cut many branches. Would not recommend this product.T-109
