Sturdy little cold frame. I bought this last winter and have used it for Spring and Fall to extend my growing season. Lettuce and cucumbers growing in there now in mid November in NE Ohio. Easily assembled. I like the wing nuts to easily open and close the lid. So much better than the stupid plastic lift pieces on my other cold frame. Stays put in our windy days here too.

The clear parts are 2 poly panels together, and condensation and/ or rainwater gets between them and clouds them. Also, the wood is just stained so to protect it from the weather, we had to varnish the wood.

First cold frame and super happy. Easy to put together however I do advise you seal the wood before you assemble, because I advise you seal it and having the pieces separated makes it easier. It's lightweight and since there is no bottom it's easy to move. The lid hinges have tightening knows so you can adjust how much you want to prop it open or tightening when shut (squirrels are smart!) Other than having to seal it (I used indoor/outdoor brush on craft sealer), I really do love this addition to my garden!

There was one defective wing nut bolt in the package. Upon contacting the seller, they rapidly, effectively, and politely sent me a replacement part. I built a short raised stand to put this on, and it seems to be doing an extraordinary job so far. It semms like it should last several years if put on the ground.
