If you have been thinking about making your own pasta I highly recommend this thing. You really just have to mix flour and water into a dough, crank it through the flat side (setting 3 seems best ) and then put it through the linguine or spaghetti cuttings side. Drop and boiling water for 5 minutes with a little salt. It's really pretty effortless to make it and clean up is easy. I'm excited to enjoy fresh whole wheat pasta before going back to work tomorrow.

Cleaning is easy. Making pasta is quick. It is quite useful toolkit and one should have to prepare at home if one loves pasta. It is more efficient than the fully automated pasta machine. One can easily control the quality of pasta, such as length of pasta segments and elasticity of pasta. The process costs less time than a fully automated machine. As a contrast, the quality of outcome pasta made by fully automated machine is entirely dependent on the ratio of liquid and flour. Also the produced pasta is lack of elasticity and pasta segments are rather short. So I would recommend to buy a good stand mixer to make dough and then make pasta by this machine. Thus the full process is automated.

For the money this is a very well built pasta maker. The construction is sturdy, and the roller works flawlessly. The standard pasta cutter works great. I had a little trouble with the thin pasta cutter setting, but I believe it was because my dough was too wet. After adding a bit of flour to my batch it started to cut properly. My only gripe is that the top cutter attachment has to be pressed down firmly or sometimes it comes loose and falls off. I believe that it is the same way on most pasta makers. Once it has been pressed down firmly it doesn't move. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who isn't looking to spend $100 or more on a pasta machine. So far I have made two different types of pasta, and some ravioli.

I bought this after deciding I wanted to make pasta, and it hasn’t disappointed! I was a bit worried when I saw that there were some people who had mentioned metal flakes in the pasta after making it, but the instructions specifically say to run some pasta through it a few times before actually making your first batch, so I think that might just be a lack of reading instructions. The only problem I have is that on the included screw to affix the pasta maker to the cabinet, part of it is plastic. It pretty quickly didn’t stand up to the amount of force required to keep it steady on the counter, which is why I rated the sturdiness 4/5. I’ll try to superglue it and see if it holds up that way. It doesn’t render the product useless, just means I have to ask my wife every so often to re-tighten it.

I wanted pasta maker for quite a while and was shopping around. Decided to go with a budget model because it's a simple mechanism so why paying more. Ovente pasta maker looks good, metal seems legit, the whole thing doesn't require a lot of space, and it does the job. I made pierogis already (minced meat ravioli type of thing). Awesome! Just what we wanted. Easy! If you want larger quantities or want to make ravioli in advance (and freeze) than probably traditional rolling will be more efficient. But I definitely wanted to avoid rolling (and I make my dough in bread maker, dough making cycle), so pasta maker is perfect for me! I also love love love spaghetti etc attachment, but for now just made a test and didn't notice any metal pieces as in some reviews.

I got this not to make pasta but for craft work (flattening wires). It works fine for that, and the build quality is good enough that it will have a decent service life for crafts. However, for actual pasta making, this has a number of significant shortfalls. It's very lightweight construction, and will not stand up to much use. The roller tolerances are not great -- again, fine for craft work, but not for pasta. The gearing is especially janky in terms of build quality. It gets 5 stars for craft work, but one star for pasta work. Overall rating of 3 stars. It might be OK if your pasta making is limited to a couple of times a year, but if pasta making is something you'll be doing weekly or monthly, this will be a disappointment. Machines such as the Atlas (or others that are made in Italy) are more expensive, but are a joy to use. You can spend your time enjoyably making pasta rather than fighting with the machine.

It worked great for about 7 months and then one day the crank had some resistance and would catch so I just started cranking harder, until finally it would not crank anymore, then I noticed metal filings in the pasta, I figured it was dead but I was curious what went wrong so I disassembled it. It appears that the cogs slipped out of alignment and started grinding together. I was very upset because I thought this pasta roller had good reviews, and then I discovered everyone who gave it 1 star all complained about the same thing, metal filings. The manufacturer has to know about this problem. The price was right but I guess you get what you pay for, so lesson learned, go ahead and get a higher quality one first because your going to end up buying it eventually anyway. So I would recommend that you do not buy this item.

First off, this machines looks fabulous. It's a sexy little Ferrari red bit of kitchen gadget candy that makes my kitchen look much more swank than it really is. Mad street cred, yo.More importantly I was able to pull it out of the box and immediately start making dumpling wrappers and pasta. It cranks smoothly and the handle and clamp stay put whilst it's being used.I have one teeny gripe which is the width adjustment knob is a little hard to read and set (but my eyesight is a little shit so take that for what it's worth).

La máquina se ve bastante bien; elegante, sólidamente construida y estéticamente atractiva.Aún no la he podido usar; el servicio de entrega excedió mis expectativas, ya que me llegó con dos días de anticipación.

For transparency's sake, I need to admit that I'm posting this review while drunk. However, the only reason that I'm in such a state, is because of the use of this awesome pasta maker... let me explain.Long ago (okay, not so long ago - it was probably 3 months ago), my wife had an idea wherein she wanted a pasta maker. We'd been watching the new season of "Master of None", and falling in love with the Italian food porn which was being prominently displayed onscreen. So my wife decides that we should try to recreate some of this drool inducing food. This begins her (unsuccessful) mission on procuring a reasonably priced pasta maker from the local food stuff warehouses. Try as she might, she found but $100+ dollar contraptions; why must such a simple sounding piece of machinery cost such a price? Sure, if it was completely automatic, or came with an authentic Italian chef attached, the price would be worthy. It was thus, upon the fortnight of her birthday, that I decided to search Amazon to see if I could find a reasonably priced pasta maker. Lo and behold (forgive the lack of oxford comma), I came upon the Ovente PA515B pasta maker. The reviews expounded on the craftsmanship, ease of use, and surprise as to the low cost of such a kitchen utensil. Though I was somewhat hesitant, there was enough 4 star ratings to appease the nagging doubt in my mind... and anyways, if it sucked, I was only out $35.Her birthday came, and with wonder in her eyes, she ripped open her gift, and held in her arms a pasta maker which she had so fervently sought. "This, we shall use at every opportunity!", which was not the case. It sat, unused, on the topmost shelf within our cupboard merely collecting dust. That is, until one day - today.A goal, that we put forth for our summer vacation, was to finally make home made pasta, and put to use her pasta maker. Always the procrastinators we two, that it was not until the final day of our vacation that it was decided that the deadline was nearly past, so that we *must* adhere to our original schedule, and make good on homemade pasta.I will not steer you wrong, fellow reader, the process of doing so are not as romantic as Aziz Ansari would have you believe. But we persevered , and subsequent to a turbulent bout of kneading dough, it was finally time to use the aforementioned pasta maker.I have said before, I will not steer you wrong, nor will I lie to you. You, like I, are searching for a magical machine which somehow turns dough into pasta. I tell you, that this is that machine - look no further.I could expound on the virtues of this pasta maker: how solid it feels in your hands (none of those cheap, breakable plastic pieces), how well put together the item is, how simple to use it is, how well the pasta came out. But there are countless other reviews which are much better written, which go into far better detail. Instead, I will leave you with the best review that I could come up with, that being: We used it, it was great, and I got drunk while eating pasta that we made together.
