The blade is extremely sharp, works very smoothly eliminating need to "chop" away peels (think eggplant). Beefy handle for comfortable grip. Absolutely the best peeler I have ever used

This is the best peeler on the market, hands down. Sturdy, with a comfortable non-slip grip and a sharp, sharp SHARP blade.Here’s a quibble and a plea: When I bought my first one of these years ago, OXO sold replacement blades for about $5. [Yes, the blade will pop out and pop back in without much effort]. Because like any cutting tool, the edge will eventually wear and need to be resharpened or replaced. I replaced mine every year or so until I found that OXO had discontinued the replacement blades from its catalog.It seems a shame and really wasteful to toss the entire peeler when the only wear item is a user replaceable part… the cutting edge. I understand OXO would prefer to sell more peelers for $15 rather than have customers buy one that lasts for a lifetime and just sell $5 parts for it; but come on.

This peeler feels so good in your hand.. it is nice and sharp and the weight feels nice.. it never 'skips' across top of peel but never digs too deep removing too much vegetable. You get what you pay for, its a bit expensive but its a really nice peeler! when this peeler is dirty and I have to use another cheaper peeler that i have i definitely notice I am not using the quality of the OXO peeler!

I've used the same inexpensive peeler for over 20 years, and I figured it was time to move up a notch. This OXO is well made with a nice ergonomic grip, and the blade is sharp (at least to start with).I've used this exclusively to peel carrots (which is why I bought it), and the one thing that I don't love about this is that it tends to capture/cling to long strands of carrot skin. My old cheap peeler never had that problem, but this one does it a lot. The carrots are super smooth after peeling, so it does a great job with that, but the additional yet small hassle of having to clean off the strands from the peeler does annoy me a bit.It's become my go-to peeler because it is comfortable and it peels very well, but I do wish that the design didn't trap the peeled skins.

My current peeler was getting rusty so it was time to purchase a new one. I've always been happy with OXO products so I bought this peeler. It's very sharp and works great. I saved the protective cover and secured it with a rubberband. It gets the job done!

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Ersatz-Sparschäler, als ähnliches Nachfolgemodell für meinen alten Billigschäler. Hiermit habe ich ihn gefunden. Liegt sehr gut in der Hand, hat eine ausreichend lange Doppelklinge und macht einen robusten, wertigen Eindruck. Ist superscharf und gleitet durch das Gemüse. Wirklich ein Traum. Ich denke mal, für eine zarte Frauenhand dürfte er zu groß und zu schwer und etwas unhandlich sein. Für Männerhände gerade richtig. Und die Männer sollen sich ja im Haushalt auch betätigen. Auch wenn der Sparschäler recht teuer ist, so ist der Preis für die Qualität gerechtfertigt. Der Billigschäler hat jahrelang gehalten, ich vermute, das wird diese Schäler auch, wenn man sich die Verarbeitung und Qualität anschaut. Von mir eine klare Empfehlung, wenn auch nur für Männerhände.

Absolutely brilliant potato peeler . Bit more on the expensive side, but worth every penny. Got lots of cheap ones in my draw that are good for nothing. Pay once and have it forever. Had OXO one before and had it for 7 years and still as good as new. Unfortunately wasn’t mine so had to leave it behind.

So far Oxo seems to be one of the most consistent reliable brands out there. I have many oxo utensils & they are all great! This peeler is sharp & glides smoothly peeling away skins. It is so comfortable to hold unlike the past thin handle peelers! If you have long nails or suffer from pain in joints & hands thus is for you! I've always tried to steer clear of food needing peeling due to pain & discomfort when holding old thin flat peelers of the past until now! This has to be one of the best peelers out there. I bought a second as a back up due to sale.
