About this item

  • Mini-Me F1 Organic Cucumber, a mini Beit Alpha (Cucumis sativa) variety, among the more popular cucumber types, is grown as a fruit vegetable. Mini-Me is an early variety that sets small, uniform, nearly spineless fruits, approximately 2 to 3 inches long, with thin, smooth skin and mild, slightly sweet flavor. Use these snack-sized mini cucumbers in fresh foods and beverages or pickle them.
  • Mini-Me F1 Organic Cucumber, an herbaceous annual, is a member of the cucurbit family (Curcurbitaceae). Cucumbers are tropical plants that love warm temperatures and high humidity. Dependable and high yielding, Mini-Me grows vigorously, quickly forming a low-growing, far-spreading vine.
  • Training the tendril-bearing vines to grow vertically on support ensures better air circulation, produces straighter fruit, helps prevent disease, and makes harvest easier.
  • Easy to grow from seed, Mini-Me F1 Organic Cucumber prefers full sun and loose, rich, slightly acid, well-drained soil. Cucumbers require frequent watering for proper growth, but leaves should be kept dry. If plants are watered too infrequently or grown in too much shade, fruits will be bitter tasting.
  • Regular composting is also recommended. Harvest cucumbers when young, before they over ripen and turn yellow. Harvest often to promote heavier fruit product. Mini-Me is also suitable for indoor gardens and hydroponic growing.

150 Years and Still Growing

Park Seed

One of America's oldest and largest mail-order seed and plant companies, the Geo. W. Park Seed Company, was founded in 1868 by 15-year-old George W. Park in Libonia, Pennsylvania. Today our gardeners number in the millions, yet we still adhere to Mr. Park's original motto. We may be connecting online through social media rather than handwritten letters, but the spirit and the result is the same: bringing the joys of gardening to as many people as possible.

Harvest at the Right Time

Cucumbers should be picked when they are firm and dark green (typically 50-70 days after planting), as overripe cucumbers can become bitter.

I got about an 80% germination rate. These vines produced so heavily, I could have been fine with one or two. I love the tiny snacking cucumbers, these produced 3-5 of them per node well into our HOT, HUMID Houston summer. As long as I stayed on top of harvesting and didn't let the cucumbers get too big, they kept going. I will definitely plant these again.

I'm hoping that they continue to do well. We are fully organic and I'm excited to see these bear fruit.

All in all these seeds have grown very well. Massive 10’-12’ main vines with several branching vines. Easily covered my walkthrough arch trellis. Heavy producer with 2-3 fruits per node on most vines. However the description says plants grow 10”-12” and the “gherkins are tiny” and should be picked at 2”-4”. The fruits are no where near edible at that size and the vines are massive. I finally picked and ate one and it is not juicy at all, very crisp and tastes like a raw zucchini. I will try pickling some soon. That’s why I ordered these. But was looking forward to tiny gherkins. Not giant half cucumbers. Seem more like the F1 hybrids than gherkins. Maybe they mislabeled the seeds or perhaps they were cross pollinated at their farm. But they are good strong seeds and plants. Just not at all what I was expecting and nothing tiny like they show in the picture.

Never got to try any matured cucumbers, these seeds don't do well in Aero Gardens. The plants grow beautifully, and the blossoms need to be hand-pollinated, but the mini-cucumbers themselves will start to form and then just turn to mush. They need more direct, full sunlight than the Aero Garden can provide.

I'm In Awe of how healthy these seeds were, I order mini cucumber seeds a few days ago and planted them. ALL TEN seeds gave me seedlings I can't even believe it. This is also the very first review I've ever given on Amazon after 10 years of using this app. Definitely coming back for more seeds. Thank you ❤️

I got a fairly high germination rate from these seeds. The only issue I had with the plants that grew was the apparent love of them from the voles that invaded my garden. However, these cucumbers produced well and in fact did better than my common slicing cukes

I have always valued Park Seeds (home state of SC). I can not get them to germinate. Totally disappointed. I believe there are 10 seed per pack. out of the 10 seed only 3 have germinated. I have tried every method I can think of. I will not be buying the mini me's again. :( so sad. I had hoped to not only eat them fresh, but to pickle some whole.

Planted in my hydroponic system and they sprouted 4 days later! Excited to grow them hydroponically so we can have them fresh for salads.
