Engine coolant flows through the heater core in order to heat the air in the passenger compartment. This original equipment HVAC heater core has been manufactured to fit your GM vehicle, providing the same performance, durability, and service life you expect from General Motors.

you have to take the dash out to replace this. that's the only reason for 2 stars on easy to install. if you own one of these trucks you know what I mean. replace the A/C evaporator while the dash is out of the truck. used on my 2001 gmc sierra 1500 5.3

Part I received was an exact duplicate of the OE in my 2001 Suburban 1500 LT, and included all the adhesive insulating strips needed for a perfect fit in the OE HVAC system, and is now installed and working great. For all the effort it takes to rip apart your dash and get AT the location of this part in the heart of your HVAC system, don't settle for an inferior, after-market substitute for either this part OR your AC core. Spend the extra $$ and get the genuine, AC Delco replacements. You will spend every day after that knowing you did everything you could to ensure you never have to undertake this massive repair project again.

Installed a month ago on my 2004 Silverado, and so far so good. Installation was a pain in the you-know-what, but overall a great product that even came with the adhesive foam padding for a pleasantly snug fit in my heater core housing. Heater works great, I'd recommend replacing the HVAC mode door actuators while you have everything apart; they are guaranteed to fail, and won't ever be this easy to replace.

Exactly like the original. This is a very time consuming repair.

There was some oxidation on a few of the tubes. Hopefully that doesn’t cause a leak in the future. It did NOT come with the foam square at the firewall. The old one was very brittle but I was able to salvage it. You could always cut up an old foam coozie if you can’t reuse your old one.

GMC pick up truck heaters! I had no idea that they had a problem with the older trucks having bad water pumps and leaking heater cores but they do! Other than the work it takes to put the heater core in the job went well and the heater core is now working as it should with NO STINK of antifreeze in the cab! The Price couldn't be beat. I was leary of buying one that the people selling it had told me Before hand that the package had been damaged on the Outside but the core was Fine and I am happy that chore is Done and all is well! I would Definitely buy from this company Again! Also, Great service and the Shipping was More than could be expected! Thank You Very Much!

Heater core in the 2000 Tahoe 5.3l started leaking. Ugh...it is a PITA repair, but doable. Took about 13 hours start to finish. Would have been faster with a helper. Have to take out front seats, center console, and most of dash. Check the videos on Utube. Several have most of the bolt locations. Once you peel the right side of the dash back you can access the HVAC box. No need to remove the dash from the vehicle. All of the HVAC box fasteners are in the engine bay and 10mm. Unbolt them all and pull the HVAC back a few inches and you can change the heater core. Also you definitely have to discharge the AC and undo the evap lines. I was hoping to get around it, but there is no way. HVAC wont move enough. Again, no need to remove the box from the vehicle. As for the replacement, this was the same as the original one. Reviews on the aftermarket ones were kind of sketchy on direct fitment and I didn't want to do it twice.....
