I am cutting sucker rods. Hundreds and hundreds of cuts on a 7/8†carbon steel rod. I had some dewalt cutting discs and quickly ran out so I purchased 50 of these. They cost about 1/3 of what I paid for the name brand. I was getting about 9 cuts with those. With this brand, I am getting about 10 per disc.They are thinner than the dewalts, and that leads to a few positive and negative things. The positive is that they cut slightly faster since they are removing less material per cut. This also leads to slightly less wear, and more cuts. On the negative side, they bind much more easily than the thicker dewalts. Binding leads to catastrophic failure. I’ve had a few disintegrate. Pictures show some of the failures and wear.All in all, I’m getting at least twice the cuts per dollar spent, but watch out for the failures. Make sure your angle grinder has a guard and wear eye protection. When they go, they go fast. Also, try not to bind them at all…

So I finally got a chance to use these this past week end and I was pretty impressed. I had to cut some one inch thick white stone for my bathroom remodel in my basement. The stone was for a seat and for a shelf in the shower. I had to cut approximately 70inches total length of cutting. I used one wheel and there was still 3/4 on the wheel left. They fit my machine and cut very smoothly. All in all I am very impressed with these wheels and now have a life time supply.

I use these cut off wheels in my auto restoration hobby. I am often having to cut metal or cut off metal from these old cars that I rebuild, so when I saw the opportunity to get PEGATEC-SKIFUL cut off wheel in a 50 pack, I decided to give it a try. I had never heard of this brand before, but they seemed to be high quality, and when I received them that was confirmed. They fit great on my HF 4.5" angle grinder and they have been used for hours. I am impressed with the lifespan that I'm getting out of the cutting wheels. Normally i get only a few cuts before they fall apart, but these seem to last longer than the average cut off wheel. Overall I have nothing bad to say about them. I'd recommend them highly! 5 stars!

These cutoff wheels look to be made very well. The box has all kinds of "markings and certifications" making them look legit. They are advertised as ultra-thin and they are in fact .015-.020" thinner than some Dewalt brand wheels I have. Both good and bad that these are thin, they cut fast with less waste but won't wear as long. So far with the couple cuts I have made they seem to be wearing nicely though. I am happy with them and a 50 pack should last me a good while.

These are decent cut-off wheels, and at 50 per pack they feel fairly priced and will last for a while.They are thinner than wheels from other brands I have used, which can be a plus or a minus. While it does allow for somewhat more precise cuts I feel that the wheels wear out a little bit faster than thicker ones. Luckily the 50-pack will more than make up for the slightly faster wear.Overall I am pretty happy with the items and will continue to use.

Review is for PEGATEC-SKILFUL Cut Off Wheels 50 Pack, 4 1/2 inch Ultra Thin, $27 on amazon.These cutoff wheels with their metal 7/8†ID fit my Craftsman hand-held grinder perfectly with no observable runout.The amazon write-up quotes these as being 0.040†thick cutoff wheels. I actually measured one at various locations and got 0.053â€+/- 0.003 (as measured with a caliper) but that difference is really, “Who Cares?†Bottom line is that they are thin. When using them, it will be necessary to hold the hand-held grinder tool as firmly as possible so as to not bend the cutoff wheel lest it should snap, shatter, and shoot pieces into the air. It will flex about 1 mm on its perimeter but otherwise it is very rigid. So strongly recommend wearing safety gear when using this cutoff wheel especially a face shield. Also important to keep the guard on the grinder.
