Oh my lord does this make homebrewing easier. So much money and time saved rather than going out and getting bottles and jugs of water every time I want to brew. You need to snag some connectors to make it work (I think its 3/8" hose barb - but check your hose size to be sure). With that, it connects pretty easily to your outdoor hose or sink if you have those attachments. I have used it for 30 or so brew days and the filter is still holding up fine - catches all the nasties in DC tap water. For those in advance brewing techniques, you can also use this to filter beer. I have done it once, pushed from one keg to another through this thing, and it worked fine. That being said, still think that kind of filtering is a waste. A touch of yeast in homebrew is part of the charm!

It’s a well made item .I was a little concerned about the labeling on the item . But discovered it was referring to the label itself . Kind of rattled me . But it’s fine . Just need to be a little more clearer. 4 stars ?

This is my third purchase of these 10" canisters and they have all failed, blown out and drenched my basement. I was replacing an old set that I'd used for 15 years before they showed any cracks and was impressed with their thickness of these new Pentair Pentek filters, compared to what I replaced. I installed a regulator to avoid pressures above 125 PSI ( I never get above 60 PSI either before or after my regulator) and I only hand tighten these. Yet, after about a month or less, I hear a bang in my basement and I find the leak spraying all over my basement. This is the second replacement but I already see a third is cracking. Pentair Pentek is normally a good brand but I've had it. These are junk and dangerous!

I am using this as a dissicant holder for my shop air system. It works well to hold the media and be able to see the color of the dissicant. I made a stainless steel cage from a chiller water strainer to go around the housing for safety in case the housing every breaks or shatters to prevent shrapnel and the drying media from going anywhere. Also, if anyone else wants to make their own air dryer like this you tube has a couple videos showing how to do it. Just pipe the air lines in backwards so air has to flow up through the media and put a small screen over the outlet to keep the media from going downstream.

we teamed up to install.. failure was neither of us read the directions which says to LUBRICATE THE O RING after initial cleaning of canister and before reassembly.. it was a winner after that,,NO COMPLAINTS, just reminder to use safe lubricant to lubricate the "O" ring and its all piece of pie? or CAKE

Purchased 2 of these to filter used (transmission) oil for use as diesel fuellowest price clear bowls i could find.they work great, no leaks, easy to rig up using fittings from any hardware store. the inlet and outlet size limits the amount of flow, but you cant beat the price.note : product insert states that using solvents (gasoline) will cloud and occlude the clear bowl. also states that sunlight will break down the plastic (thats all plastic). something to bear in mind if you plan on filtering outdoors or using a solvent to thin your waste oil.if youre just getting into oil filtering, i highly reccomend these housings as an inexpensive way to get started on a small scale.

I wish the listing had made clear this requires silicone lubricant for the seal. I would pay a dollar or two more to have that included. And it would also be nice to have some fittings included, or at least linked in the product description. It would be so easy for listings like this to have information that helps you get the accessories you need to make them work.
