I just like the fact that these leads never disappoint. Been using them for decades and the product performs the same no matter what. Authentic, durable, and easy to write with :D It’s not gritty which I love as someone who writes a ton of notes. Don’t mind the pen writings/doodles, they were from my last review. I used the lead to shade in the drawings which was very smooth and it didn’t leave lead chunks flying everywhere. Would recommend! :)Fun Little Story:I went through a whole week of finals with one mechanical pencil and two broken pieces of lead :^) I managed to make it through the end of the week by holding the tiny piece of lead in my fingers and bubbling in the answers. I can’t wait to use these! Hehe~ they will definitely save me from that experience!

I love the Pentel 'B' leads. Writing with a 'B' lead is smooth, comfortable, sufficiently dark you can read it in a year, and most-importantly, they flow well from quality mechanical pencils while 'biting' the lock mechanism (so as to not slide backward in the lock).Sadly, you just aren't going to find 'B' (not to mention '2B') leads in a big-box store! In most instances, you won't find 'B' or '2B' leads ANYWHERE short of a college bookstore or an arts-and-crafts store. This is a problem for those of us not living near a 'mega-city', so I simply 'bulk-purchase' 'B' leads on Amazon...and Pentel is the best, most-consistent manufacturer of these excellent writing leads!

Over the years I have tried many lesser known brands of mechanical pencils, lead refills, erasers, etc. but in the long run none perform as well PENTEL. I use PENTEL products as an accountant, I use PENTEL products as a woodworker, and I use PENTEL products for note taking around the house. My only caution is that when using colored leads (like red or blue) use caution because they are much softer than normal leads and will break easy.

The product is as described and comes in a some plastic container and there are three. The number of lead in each container is small so don't expect it to be filled. The quality is good its a hard lead not soft, which is great for my sketching. The items came quickly in the mail and I am satisfy with my purchase.

To me, being a college student after 30 years, it took some time to get comfortable writing notes again. To me this size is a perfect size for writing pages and pages. It glides smoothly, is dark enough, and doesn't etch the paper.I previously purchased a .05 pencil, then realized it has the tendency to etch the paper, and the tone was lighter than I prefer. I am glad I found pencil and refills in this size.

I use this with another brand mechanic pencil, and it works perfectly. It is very smooth and pleasurable to use. It glides on the paper and it is easy to erase. Very good quality overall and good value for money.
