Quality and design are timeless, and fresh black pepper is so much tastier

It's cheap and it grinds well. Has decent capacity as well, but, it's it's slippery. When cooking, your hands are likely wet and it's not easy to get a good grip on it.

I love fresh-cracked pepper, but hate buying and throwing away those plastic ones from the store. This one eliminates the need for it, letting you get a good consistent grind from your pepper while also looking nice on your countertop. The window is convenient to see if you're running low, but the capacity isn't the best. I've also noticed that the screw on top that allows you to control the fineness of your grind tends to loosen with use, but it just takes the occasional re-tighten to fix. Big chunks of pepper do tend to make it through from time to time, which I enjoy, but just be conscious of it if you're cooking for someone with texture issues. For the price, I definitely recommend it.

Only outputs pepper in one direction and even that's incredibly slow and prone to jamming. You'll need to grind upside down to get it flowing again several times per dinner plate and it will take ~60 seconds for a liberal amount of pepper per plate. You wouldn't think this would even be possible in an age where pepper grinders are cheap and easy enough to make that they're built into disposable salt and pepper tabletop dispensers, but here we are.
