I purchased two of these rated for a 120 pound dog - and my 40 pound 2-year old Huskey mix has pulled the stake out of the ground numerous times, and broken the cord of both by pulling too hard. The first one was purchased June 13, 2023 and lasted almost 7 months. He broke it at the spring end. The 2nd one was delivered Jan 11, 2024 and he broke 35 days later on Feb 15, 2024 by ripping the cord off the latch to his collar. It's definitely not rated for an active or determined 40 pound dog, but might work for a docile older dog.

Great stake and cable. Purchased one a year ago for our new puppy while in Florida. We took it home to Ohio, and forgot to bring it with us this year. We purchased a new one exactly like the previous. It is perfect for our Yorkie whoenjoys wandering around the back of our condo. It is nice it is so chew resistant. That helps! Many thanks for such awell-made product.

Easy to use. Good value for the money. Works well on my 30lb. escape artist dog to have freedom to play in the yard and not get out.

I needed something to tie my 3 months 20 lb puppy to that would not get wrapped up around here like a tree. The screw is beautiful 1/2†silver-finished steel with sharp point. A straight edge would make it much easier to screw down. I very forcefully screwed it into the center of my yard all the way down to the hilt and then lifted it effortlessly straight up back out. The soil here was very dry (current drought) and sandy though. Even wet I don’t think it would hold. Needs a high silt and clay content to really hold. Even then I would only use for small dogs On the other hand, the 30’ coated steel leash is awesome. Will not knot up and plenty of length and attached harnesses on each end. This would hold any large dog!

My dog snapped it apart then I noticed the spring and put it back together. I dnt like it cuz it defeats the purpose and the dog can run off if it sees something it wants. Thank God my dog has a semi good recall. I would not purchase this type of stake/line again. I have a Pitbull.

After 2 days the dog was able to pull corkscrew out of ground better on the market. Have one from 4 years ago going strong can’t get that one out of ground. Wanted one to take camping and friends homes and he got out of it came right out of ground leaving a gapping whole in ground and soil everywhere

This is a must for anyone that has a dog and no fence in their backyard. We like to sit out in our gazebo and since our yard backs on to a big ball diamond and park, we sometimes just like to sit and watch the people playing in the park. For our dog, this keeps him in our yard yet having fun while he’s able to navigate around and enjoy a bit of freedom. The quality of this is way better than I was expecting. The ease of screwing the cork screw into the ground with that rubber coating on the handle was a surprise for me as I’ve only ever had them before that were just steel. We went with a little bit longer cable so that we can let him navigate further than just in front of us. Great option to have. I think I’ll order another shorter cable so that if we travel anywhere, we can bring him with a shorter lead. The spring at the base is a fantastic idea as it stops the dog from having an abrupt stop/strain. Highly recommend.

Good sturdy tie out for our 50 lbs shorty bull. He’s smaller but strong and broke the 120 lb lines that were retractable. This seems to be working well and like the orange on the top so it’s easier to see.

Got this for our cat. Works well for him and any guests who's animals need to be tied.Not too heavy and even a dog never pulled the cork from the ground.
