This item did not grind salt. It constantly got stuck and salt became congealed in mechanism. I hadn't realised how annoyed by it I was until I threw it out and purchased another awesome salt and pepper grinder

I wanted to buy this for a while. I’m glad I finally pulled the trigger. This is a high-quality Peugeot, mill. It is a little tough to get the salt to come out sometimes, but I wonder if it’s just my lack of expertise in using and adjusting grind so far.

I picked this one, as in Europe those mills are famous, and well known for their quality. The transparent look great, as you can see what salt you've put inside, specially because I've a few of them for black, pink and sea salt.The trick with those kind of grinders is always that you have to tweak the grinder settings with the knob on top. So when you grind, and you touch the knob it will likely change the setting of the grinder. As you only use black and pink salt occasionally, this grinder works fine for it. For sea salt I recommend the other Peogeot mills, like this one: Peugeot PM25458 Daman U'Select Shaftless 8.25 Inch Salt Mill, Stainless Steel. As that one you can 'lock' at the bottom, and grind every day for easy use.

I've had a peugeot acrylic pepper grinder for years. Love it. Thought to finally get a matching salt grinder. However, this model will only grind thin flakes of salt. I tried a mortar and pestle to make the rock salt more manageable (it is already the small pebble size). The salt grinder does not grind the salt. I tried pepper corns. It does not work for pepper either. My pepper grinder works perfect with the rock salt. I do wonder if I have a totally bum one, because even the flake salt it came with didn't get broken up very well. If indeed the design is specific for flake salt, that would be something good to put in the descriptions. I'd love to replace it with another pepper grinder that would work for my rock salt. hello? hello? Photos compare grinding mechanism of this salt model with pepper model.

The product is excellent. Delivery timeframe the 2nd time around was superb. Product packaging was non-existent. It was ina box by itself rolling around.......room for improvement on this. No where to go but up.

This brand is top notch. Although this is expensive, I'm used to going through salt and pepper shakers about twice a year. So, this is a lifesaver. I expect it to last forever like my pepper shaker from the same company. I first ran into puegot in italy at a restaurant. My husband and I immediately wrote down the brand after we handled a pepper mill over our food. These things are sturdy and so smooth. Really nice quality.

I have one for pepper and one for large crystal salts. I have found they are hard to turn at all, many times.Also, the top nob used for adjustment is so loose the thing won't work at all. When I used either of thesemills/grinders I have to spend time tightning the adjustment nob between each turn.There has got to be something better than this. It is a bit embarrassing when guests are watching.

Die klassische kleine Salzmühle ist mit einem hochwertigen Mahlwerk ausgestattet, die Peugeot Mahlwerke genießen zu Recht einen sehr guten Ruf.Die Salzmühle aus Acryl ist die kleinste der Serie Nancy von Peugeot, aber vollkommen ausreichend auf einem gedeckten Tisch. Steinsalz ist schon eingefüllt (sollte man auch nur verwenden) und so kann man direkt die Funktion testen. Egal, ob man sehr feines oder eher grobes Salz auf seinen Speisen bevorzugt, die Mühle hat damit keine Schwierigkeiten. Der Mahlgrad wird oben an der Krone entsprechend eingestellt.Praktisch ist der Behälter aus Acryl, er ist zeitlos schlicht und kann auch problemlos mit einem weichen Tuch abgewischt werden. Im unteren Bereich befindet sich, dezent aufgedruckt, das unverkennbare Peugeot Logo. Die klassische Bedienungsanleitung als kleines Heft ist angehängt.

Size is right for me and the price is awesome. Seems have no problem with the salt glinder as other reviewer said it doesn’t work very well. Happy with my purchase and it looks pretty on my kitchen counter top too.
