I use this for my household water treatment. It's the same stuff but easier to handle (bucket) than the bag I get from the hardware store. Additionally, its the right amount - I treat once per year and a bag is two years worth. After a year soda ash in a bag is rock solid. Plus you get a free bucket.

The product is fine grain and dissolves easily. The container is sturdy. What else can you say about a bucket of soda ash?A note about the shipping container (which was from Amazon fulfillment, I believe): The bucket was in a box with a bit of crumpled paper that did nothing. The delivery guy even commented that it felt like there was a bowling call in the package. It rocked and rolled.

I've been using liquid ph-up for my spa for years. It's quite expensive. This powdered version is less expensive, per year. It took about 1/2 cup to bring my spa from off the strip to a ph of 7. It would be better if they had a usage table for the 300 to 900 gallon range of a spa, I did a little math and it worked just fine.

This does the job if you don't want to go to the professional food depot for bulk baking soda. This is your next best bet. We have a 35,000 gallon pool, and so it takes a bunch to counteract lots of rain and its byproduct of acid in the pool. You may want to adjust the alkalinity after 24 to 48 hours after you add this to the pool. Adjusting both at once won't work as chnging the ph dynamically changes the other measurable water factors as well. Fix one, wait, then adjust the others. You will use less chemicals that way. this will make the pool cloudy for a day, but it is safe to swim in. I am a certified pool operator, trained by Disney.
