I have a pair of Allen Edward boots (like another user that left a review) that were full lace-ups. I have two other pairs that came with the top three eyelets as speed laces, which I really liked. I got tired constantly having to unless the top three to take these boots off. I decided on this product because of cost, completeness, color match, and likeness to the OEM hooks on the other boots. The process of replacing was pretty easy: 1. Use a small screwdriver to bend the hooks on the back of the eyelet. 2. Remove the eyelet. 3. Assemble the new hooks and position in the provided base. 4. Strike the revetting punch to secure the eyelet. 5. Angle the punch outward and strike again, rotating and striking at each new position. This will smooth the flange so there is no abrasion points. This also makes the eyelet secure and not spin. 6. Use a large flathead screwdriver to pry open the hook to be even with it’s base. I am super please with the results!

They arrived sooner than expected and I installed them immediately. Thanks for the fast response and delivery! Here are two suggestions for improving your product:1- The inside washers provided are far too small to secure the Eyelets. I tried one and it failed, so I used my own larger washers and found much better results.2- The old product that I removed from my boots, had three little nubs on the eyelets to prevent rotation after installation. Even after getting your product as tight as possible, they still rotated as I tied the laces.The tools worked perfectly and overall, I am pleased with your product and services.JN

Quick and easy fix to replace a top speed hook on my Redwing work boot. No instructions needed. The speed hook backing appears to be “light dutyâ€, but once I installed it, it really seems to be tight and sturdy. I just installed it this evening, so once I wear my boots for a few weeks, I’ll give an update on how durable this new replacement speed hook is. *Edit March 2023… So, it’s been 9 months since I replaced that speed hook, and it’s still going strong. I wear these boots to work 5 days a week.

I was sent the part to rivet the lace hooks on but not the actual hooks. Poor product quality assessment of the main items are actually missing. Do not recommend.

I have a pair of Allen Edmonds boots I got last year. They are lace up to the top. Can't get my foot in unless I undue the top 3 laces. So I didn't wear them much. I added these speed laces to them and now I can put them on and off in seconds. These are a little short to put though the eyelet, so had to crush the eyelids down. After that they installed easily with the included tool.

These are very cheaply made pressed brass. They bend very easily. The washers they come with are very small and will eventually pull through in most circumstances. No reinforcement on the bend, so they open up if you pull the laces too hard.

I bought this because I bought a new pair of boots (last one in my size) and noticed after bringing them home the top lace hook was not attached. This was a quick and easy fix and matched the antique brass of the other lace hooks.
