The 12-inch Bamboo Pizza Peel has been a game-changer in my homemade pizza-making process. Its design and functionality make it an indispensable tool for any pizza enthusiast.Crafted from bamboo, this pizza peel is aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly. Bamboo is known for its durability and sustainability, making it a wise choice for eco-conscious consumers. The material is sturdy yet lightweight, which is crucial for easily sliding pizzas in and out of the oven. The size of the peel is perfect for standard homemade pizzas. It offers ample space to build and transport a 12-inch pizza, but it's not overly bulky, making it easy to handle and store. The tapered edge is a thoughtful design element, allowing for a smooth transition of the pizza to and from the baking surface.Another benefit of this peel is its versatility. It doubles as a cutting and serving board, making it a multifunctional tool in the kitchen. The surface is smooth and doesn't dull my pizza cutter, preserving both the peel and the cutter's blade.Maintenance is a breeze. The bamboo cleans up nicely and doesn't absorb odors or stains, which is essential for food preparation tools. To preserve its quality, I simply wash it by hand and occasionally treat it with mineral oil.TL;DR: The Bamboo Pizza Peel is an excellent tool for anyone who loves making pizza at home. Its sturdy yet lightweight design, perfect size, and multi-functionality make it a valuable addition to any kitchen.

Happy with my purchase. Cost was lower than alternatives and it's well made. Width is perfect for the standard Ooni.I build and launch pies with this wooden peel and rotate/ remove with a metal turning peel. Background- I'm a middle-aged IT nerd who loves pizza and worked at a pizza place in college decades ago. We have an Ooni and a metal peel. Even with my "professional" experience, I still have issues with the dough getting stuck on the peel - toppings fly off or the dough rips. It happens when letting the dough sit on the peel too long. If you build your pie with the dough on one of the metal peels with holes and are not quick, you're in for a mess.Wood helps with this, as your dough can sit longer with less flour before getting stuck, as the wood absorbs some moisture. We have pizza parties where the kids make their own pies, so they sit for a while when we stage them up for cooking. Tip, flour your peel and dough ball with 50/50 mix of your dough flour and semolina. Before you launch with this wooden peel, shake to make sure it's not sticking. Rotate/ remove with a metal turning peel because the lip on this is pretty thick and will be hard to get under a pie. Finish is nice and it's also quite heavy, so I expect to last quite a while. Looks nice enough to also use for cheese and charcuterie.

So I'm trying to get into making my own pizzas at home and have found that making your own pizzas requires a little planning and some equipment. One of the must haves is a good pizza peel or, in my case, three of them! This bamboo peel was a fraction of the cost of the one from the oven manufacturer and, frankly, it looks, works, and cleans great. I don't understand why someone would pay nearly $50 when you can buy a peel like this for a way better price. In fact, you could probably buy 2 or 3 for the price. In any event, this peel is a bit thick (and I think it is supposed to be) and, because of that, really is intended for making the pizzas on it, launching them into your oven, and serving the pizzas from it ... it actually is quite nice looking. It also is helpful that there is a pointed edge along the front, which does help to launch the pizzas into the oven, but, again, the peel may be a bit thick to use for retrieving any pizza that still has a somewhat soft crust. That all said, this peel is nice looking, appears to be solid and well constructed, and it has worked exactly as intended and is a solid general peel for a very fair price. Now, go make some pizza!

I used this pizza peel today to launch my pizzas. This was my first time using a pizza peel. This peel seems to be made out of genuine bamboo, seems high quality enough as well. It’s perfect for a 12inch pizza oven and should be ok for a 16†pizza oven, or a regular oven. It may be too short if you have a much bigger pizza oven.Just some things to note. Since it’s bamboo, it will get burned if you rest it too long on your pizza stone. That’s a function of a beginner though as the longer you use it the better you will become.Bamboo peels are better for launching pizzas - I was told. But be sure to add flour such as semolina flour to help prevent sticking.

After 3 months, with moderate use, the board split in half!!

It’s perfect for the OONI Karu 12. I have a lot of pizza peels now because I was having a hard time getting a peel that I could make pizza on then transfer to the Kari. This one has been the best to use so far. I would recommend getting a smaller metal one for turning the pizza though.

durable...that wood is as tough as Captain America's shieldMuch better than a metal peel because it doesnt stick as badly, but a metal one is better for taking a cooked one out of the oven.I use it to serve the pizza on as well. It can be used as a cutting board. Its easy to clean and I always clean it be hand.

I needed something I could put my homemade pizza on when getting my pizza in the oven. I have a pizza stone and transferring the pizza was not easy. The pizza board is awesome! It does not stick and slides right off.
