My bedroom door was coming off it's hinges due to stripped screws, we already used longer bolts but eventually those stripped as well. Instead of going the over drill, dowel rod and glue route, we tried this out and were pleasantly surprised. In 4 of 5 holes it worked perfectly, in the last, the insert began to spin when tightening down the bolt but we were able to get it relatively flush and it still works perfectly. For the price, and convenience it was well worth it.

Great little concept but for smaller wood screw holes that are stripped, might be better to use a toothpick or some wood putty filler. Once the remaining portion is bent/ snapped off you need to be careful not to expect to withdrawal screw again or you might pull the plastic item wrapped around the threads right back out leaving a slightly larger hole than before.

Product works as advertised. Fills in wood hole so screw now holds firmly in place.

So my boat had a few screw holes that were stripped out that attached the hatch hinges to the deck. So I Removed the screws, Removed the hinges, pushed these into The holes, knocked them down lightly with a hammer, cut them with wire cutters, knocked them down a little more so it was flush, put the hinges back on, then put the screws back in. Worked perfect. Screws are super tight now!!

I had a screw on a stair railing anchor bracket that was constantly coming loose, I was thinking about using toothpicks or match sticks to fill the hole. Then I saw these on Amazon, this is exactly what I needed, just put it in the hole ( no glue needed) break it off to the desired length, and insert the screw. Nice and tight, all fixed.

I really hoped the reviews meant it would work. I've been working g with an annoying screw for awhile. I'm really don't understand how it got such high ratings. I hammered the thing in but it never stuck. There is no snapping off because it doesn't stick. It just comes out. I finally cut a piece and it crumbled when I out the screwdriver on it. Just no help at all.

But pretty expensive for a piece of plastic
