My plastic version broke. This is much better. Keep in mind, this is 6 inches long. To get it to latch smoother, I had to bend the catch a little so the "T" would slip in easier.

Was a great product, bought for my Horse Trailer. Only downfall is it did not come with any screws.

I have been going through the plastic door holders every 6 months. The dry heat and the high winds in the southwest are awful on the plastic door holders and they just snap. Easy install. Matches the exact holes and location. No more plastic breaking.

I used to have one of those flimsy plastic door holders, and predictably, it broke. After a replacement that didn't fare much better, I decided to do some serious searching—and boy, am I glad I did! That's when I discovered this all-metal door holder replacement. While the screw holes didn't align perfectly, a little adjustment and filling the old holes with silicone did the trick. This looks fantastic with its polished finish. The spring mechanism on the latch side is impressively strong, ensuring it stays out of the way when not in use. Well, the good thing is it's metal so should hold up much better than the all plastic ones. And it's stainless too so won't rust.However I had to bend the arm to get it to line up with the slot in goes in. And I had to enlarge the slot opening slightly to get the arm to go in.So, overall, yes, it works but only after having to fiddle with it for some time. But it should last a long time, unlike the plastic ones.
