You'd be hard-pressed to find a chunk of heavy, durable, textured, thick, rubber sheeting at a lower price than this one. I did not have the wavy, badly cut edges, oily residue, or strong smell that other reviewers have mentioned. The mat I received has no smell that I can detect, no oily anything, is perfectly cut and proportioned, and overall, is very high quality. Realize that this is a very heavy mat at around 15lbs. I wouldn't want to have to carry it around often or have to roll and unroll it a whole lot. The carry case and straps are very basic and will not hold up very long under frequent use, but they're fine for storage. If you need such a heavy, thick mat, I doubt you could do better than this one.

I liked this portable dance mat. It was nice that I could roll it up and take it with me. It is a bit heavier for smaller dancers though. The one minor gripe that I have with the dance mat, and this is likely due to the material, is that the ends do tend to roll up a bit unless you leave them down for a while. Also, it feels like there is an oil or something on the mat when it was originally shipped so a good wipe-down doesn't help. I do recommend also leaving it open for a while to air out initially.

Nice thickness while still giving a stable platform. Big enough that I feel comfortable really getting into the flow. It's fairly heavy but should be manageable by anyone fit enough to dance. It's slightly on the higher price side but I think the quality it there to justify it. With proper care I believe this mat will last for at least a few years. The bag is nice and seems of solid construction. Was fairly easy to roll the mat up and put it back in the bag.

This portable dance floor has been a fantastic investment for my 13-year-old daughter who needs to practice her ballet techniques between studio sessions. The 6mm thickness provides just enough cushioning while maintaining the firm surface she needs for proper technique and ankle support. My daughter loves that she can quickly roll it out in our living room or take it outside on nice days to practice on our patio. This is a nice dance mat, but it does roll up a bit on the edges, this never seems to go away, so you may need something to lay on the edges.It arrives with an oily residue on it, but it is thick and you can roll it up. It's heavy too, so you may not want to do that very often.Great for home use. Price is a bit too high4 Stars

When I first unrolled it, it immediately reeked, it smells so strongly of chemicals it was nauseating. We rolled it out in the living room and opened all the windows to air the place out, which helped a little. Ultimately, I had to mix up some soapy water and scrub both sides with a washcloth to remove the intense oily chemical that was all over it.It's certainly "non slip" NOW, but initially with all the oily gunk all over it it was quite slippery. It's plenty big and it's *fairly* soft to stand on, but if you need it for lying on or kneeling on you're out of luck, it's much too firm/hard for that. I figured it would be a decent alternative to a yoga mat for someone as large as I am, but it's absolutely NOT made for anything like that. However, even though I don't dance, I have found a great use for it - it's quite handy to use in my little workout area to protect the floor from my weights. I can comfortably stand on it barefoot and do kettlebell exercises, and it keeps my hardwood floor from having any weights set down slightly too hard.So it eventually worked out for me, but, I want everyone to realize that it's VERY firm and stiff and when it arrives it might be absolutely suffused with oily stink, it's almost like it's soaked in motor oil, it's like fresh asphalt on a hot say, it smells so much. If you're good with that and you have a specific use in mind, go for it, it definitely does seem sturdy like it'll last a long time and it is more comfortable to stand on than the bare floor.

Since the pandemic many of us have been taking online dance classes, even after lockdowns finished. Some dancers ordered marley to their homes. I've finally had a chance, myself, with this item. It's definitely thick enough. I do wish it came in longer measurements, as there's not enough coverage for true choreography even in a living room. It's also quite expensive for the relatively small size. That said, I'm pretty pleased with its performance thusfar.I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases. Since I rely on reviews, too, I appreciate how helpful they can be in my purchasing decisions. Hope my review has helped you.
