Works perfect for lighting the coals in my grill quickly. Seems built well and looks good. Not sure how it compares to the other grill starters that cost multiple times more as I dont own or have any experience with them. But for the price I am not disappointed.

I've played with the best ways to sear foods every since I started cooking Sous Vide. I bought a cheap small torch, which is great for Creme Brule, etc., and then I bought a slightly bigger torch because the small one really wasn't practical for searing a steak or burger. But I put off spending more for a real flame thrower because I wasn't sure: 1. That it would be that effective, 2. that I could justify the cost of the $200 torch I see everywhere, 3. that the "overseas" manufactured cheapies would hold up, and well, you get the idea.This torch, while made in China, is from a USA owned small business and promised a 1 year unconditional guarantee. And the price was really reasonable for a decent product. So I took and chance and bought it. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. The torch seems to be well made, but most importantly, after using it several times on steaks and burgers, it just works really well. The flame lights easily and produced a beautiful blue flame that leaves absolutely no fuel taste on the food. (A problem I had when I tried my garden torch!) The large width and hot temp of the flame make it pragmatic to torch not just burgers and steaks, but a I've done a good sized chuck roast quickly and completely.

This product works really well with our sous vide steaks. It helps to make them look grilled and gives them that charred flavor. Be aware it does not come with the small propane tank needed to use it. Our other issue was the stand did not work well to hold the gun when it was hot. The flame adjusts from low to high. My husband used a high flame and did it over our outside grill.

This thing is a firestarter on steroids. I'm able to light the coals for my offset super fast. I use it all the time.

Can't believe how good this works. I've been looking at other starters for over $200.00 . Saw the reviews and price and decided to give it a good. I don't know how one could work better! No incentives for this review, just had to say how pleased I am.

This thing is awesome. DO NOT ! Spend $170 on a “grill gun†this is just as capable for a fraction of the cost. This is the only way I light my charcoal now, no fire starter needed. Takes 5-8 minutes max depending on how much charcoal you’re using.

My husband enjoyed this item until one day it malfunctioned. We believe there was a leak or something, but the flame wouldn’t turn off and then the entire gun caught fire. Thank god we had an extinguisher & it rained recently, otherwise it could have been very bad. My husband sustained minimal burns up his arm. We’re thankful the canister didn’t explode. The picture attached is after we extinguished the fire & removed the canister.
