I had zero issues using this wonderful flame torch. It does a fantastic job and is super useful after cooking some sous vide steaks, chicken, etc. It can feel a little heavy if you use a larger butane or kerosene tank, but a smaller one will work perfectly for decent control. Definitely best if used outdoors, however, if you don't have a choice for some reason, just be sure to have your windows open and keep anything dangerous away from this flame.

I do sous vide cooking often, and have a weed torch for when I need to sear multiple or bigger things but it's a pain to hook up to the propane tank every time just for a couple of minutes of use, especially when the tank is already hooked to the grill, AND I had to use the striker with that. This attachment is really convenient and portable by comparison, and seems to have about the same output (advertised 500,000 BTUs on both). First thing I did was turn it all the way up and oooh'd and ahhh'd at the powerful flame. This handle allows for a lot more control and portability, and does an awesome job of searing meat and melting compound butter or cheese or whatever you might have on top. Much more portable too so I can pre-cook things then take them wherever, and bring this to sear. It also comes with a spare connector for smaller bottles.I've used it a couple of times now for searing and jump-starting charcoal. I found that it worked well for searing without having to crank it to max. To start it, you open the valve just slightly, otherwise the gas flow is too turbulent to light. The thing I don't love about this is that there's not a clear click or anything to indicate that it's completely off. You turn the knob all the way and the flame stops. The best indicator is that you can't hear any more hissing, and there is more of a click to turn the gas back on. It would be super nice if it was an on/off switch like my other smaller torch head, rather than just "on", so you could easily turn everything off if you need to reposition during use. I can't complain too much though since this does not need a striker. But those are nitpicks, and ultimately it's a great addition to the sous vide toolbox, or whatever else you might need a small flamethrower for.

This works very good. Have used it several times now and does an excellent job of putting a nice crust on my steaks! Definitely worth it if you like to do sou vie.

I'm not using this for cooking but lighting my outdoor BBQ pit, fire pit, and I'll use it to start campfires. It works great, the flame adjustment is good and the directions are better than usual.

I bought this to sear meat I put a propane cylinder on it and fired it up I got a 5 foot flame blasting out of it like a afterburner on a jet . Had to turn it down until it was almost off to be usable to syrup piece of meat I'm not complaining though I'm gonna keep this one in my truck to clear the road of any protesters since then I've bought a smaller one to use in the kitchen

Very nice torch. Gets quite hot if needed (starting bonfires) and great range of control to also use for crème brûlée or searing that perfect Rib Eye after you just pulled it out of your Sous vide unit!! Kudos on a very reasonably priced unit (I’ve seen these sell for over $150 on Facebook and Insta).

I am absolutely enamored with this. It does everything I need: starting a fire in my fire pit to putting the perfect sear on my steaks. Highly recommend this product.
