Firm yet pliable rubber construction allows enough flexibility to bridge slight diameter differences in hose or tubing. Pre-molded indents on the cuff allows for easy, airtight clamp installation. Handy set includes one rubber cuff and two steel hose clamps.

Used this to connect the dust port on my Ridgid bench top spindle/edge sander to a "2-1/4 inch" elbow (sized to be the female to a male shopvac hose). Both the dust port and the elbow fitting were exactly 2-1/2 inch OD. This worked perfectly to secure them together in a semi-rigid, compact fashion (space was a concern for me between the back of the tool and the wall). Not sure of the exact dimension ranges for this flex cuff, but when connecting these two pieces (2-1/2 inch OD), the cuff had plenty of wiggle room when loose, but tightened down snug with only a few turns of the band clamps.

ITEM SOLVED MY CONNECTION CHALLENGE FOR 4' DUST PORTS ON JET JWTS-10 TS TO 4" DUST COLLECTOR HOSE.THE "FLEX CUFF" 70136 FITS THE DUST CHUTE PERFECTLY, ONLY MOD WAS A PIECE OF PVC FOR HOSE TO BUCK TOOL.FOR MY GARAGE SHOP THIS PART WILL HELP CAPTURE DUST AT SOURCE WHEN ITS TOO COLD TO TAKE IT OUT DOORS.ITEM DOES WORK FOR MY UNIT WITH VERY SLIGHT MOD.

Used this to connect two suction hoses. Worked well with no leak. Rubber if pliable enough to create a great seal on one end of hose that was a bit smaller.

The rubber piece fit perfectly, so that is great. The thing I didn't like about this is that the bolts use some sort of funny size, so I wasn't able to use my adjustable screwdriver that has two different sized built-in nut drivers. I've never had a boot that used this size of bolt. Fortunately, I'm using this piece in a place that shouldn't ever have to be adjusted, that I need one side tight, and one side able to slip on and off by hand, so I adjusted it with a flat blade screwdriver, and I should be good to go.But, I won't use this brand for boots/couplers that I want to be able to regularly adjust. Nut drivers are so much better than screw drivers...

I purchased a ShopVac 2 1/2" adapter, intending to use it to connect the sawdust outlet on my new SawStop Jobsite saw to a 2 1/2" to 4" hose adapter that I use with my sawdust collecter. That was a "NO Go!" The ShopVac adapter dimensions are internal, while both the SawStop and hose adapter are 2 1/2" external dimension. The POWERTEC Flex Cuff is exactly what the saw doctor ordered.

I had tape holding the hoses from the blast gate to my mitter saw and to my table saw. so I now have these flex cuffs and it is much more sturdy and it looks better LOL

Works very well on all my machines for dust collection. Only reason I give it 3 stars is the price. Lee valley now offers this item for $11.50 instead of the $20 plus dollars. Won’t purchase here again unless the price matches.
