Our Story
HOMI YOUNGJU (Hand Hoe) contains the life and soul of a craftsman.
Craftsman “No-Ki, Seok” started working in a blacksmith's shop at the age of 14 to escape poverty and has been making“HOMI” for 54 years. The average length of senior craftsmen working in the YOUNGJU blacksmith's shop is more than 50 years.
Mr. Seok carefully hits and molds the heated iron many times with a hammer for the optimal angle and grip of the HOMI. Thus, this customized and special HOMI does not strain the user’s hands and provides the most efficient and satisfying user experience. He values and prides in his reputation making the best quality HOMI and its convenience and usefulness.

I am a lifelong gardener who has assembled quite a collection of tools over the years - cultivators, weeders, pruners - everything needed for planting and growing perennials and vegetables. This tool. by Homi Youngju, has become my favorite, go-to piece of equipment for everything gardening. It is handmade with very good craftsmanship, and the curved angle works perfectly. the pointed tip is extremely sharp and digs into even the hardest soil with ease and the sturdy wooden handle is top-quality and securely attached. The safety cover is well-made and fits perfectly over the blade. Overall, I expect this tool to last a lifetime. As a certified Master Gardener, I highly recommend getting this hand plow for weeding, digging holes for planting, making rows for sowing vegetable seeds, and more.

This little tool will cut your weeding in HALF. it is easy to use and can unearth to the base of roots of weeds even wild violets so that all you have to do is pick up the weed and put it in the garbage bag. You can use it as a pick and as a hoe just to move the dirt around. It is sturdy and SHARP at the point. It is the best tool that I have purchased to use in a flower garden/bed. It goes between the roots of shrubs and bushes easily you might have to position it a little more slowly but I had dandelions groving between the roots of a holly bush that has been allowed to get to "tree status;" it was a snap.

This is a handy tool when gardening. My friend has one and said she used it a lot. I bought and like it too. So handy , I have used to break ground, hack stubborn roots and divide plants. I bought my sister one also.

I'm a gardener - and have just started using this tool this year. OMG swinging it to get at wild onions, dandelions etc so nice. It goes deep enough to get roots. Perfect for injuring little weed seed starts by scoring it across the earth. Used the point to trench near edging and the flat blade to shift the grade slightly for mulching. I'm used to using a garden spade and getting a sore palm from digging...but not anymore! Yep, do love it and think I'll add it to my Christmas gift ideas for other gardeners I know. Oh and I truly abused it this past week - came thru beautifully.

So I just got this tool, and really can't comment on longevity except to say that it looks sturdy if not eternal.What I do want to say is this: I bought this tool because after a robust session weeding out ill-considered groundcover that had spread too far, I finally broke my Cobrahead weeder. I like that tool a lot, was doing stupid things with it, and would buy one again. That said, I figured since I had to buy something in that general purpose (weeding, digging, trenching) vein, I might try a Ho Mi, and after googling around found this one.Just doing a few things with it, I'm delighted with what a machine it is for weeding, cultivating, and making furrows. Makes creating borders a breeze, even easier than Cobrahead. So use wise, this is a keeper. I guess I could imagine still wanting a Cobrahead because a) why not? and b) there might be some small scale work getting between cracks, etc., that it might work better for. But for many uses this design is more powerful even than that one.One possible issue: the handle is relatively small (short). I think this may be intentional, as it is weighted very nicely and ergonomically. That said, if you have big hands you might miss the more ample handle of the Cobrahead weeder. On the whole though this one will make you want to put on your clogs and get out there weeding.

I’m only mad that I didn’t buy this sooner.Once you get the hang of how to use it, it makes pulling weeds a million times easier. So so impressed. Especially for grass growing in flower beds, you can actually get the roots up! So great!

I love this thing! I’ve used it constantly and find it serves most purposes in our allotment. Great for cultivating, digging out couch grass, hoeing between plants but can also level soil, make seed drills etc. it’s simply but beautifully made and I would say represents super value for money!

Hackan är rolig att använda i landet. Den är inte slipad, så det får man göra själv om man vill. Kolstål och ett trähandtag. Ligger bra i handen. Kul att kunna arbeta i trädgården med detta koreanska handsmidda (?) verktyg.
