Haven't had for to long. I can say what I have done with this pyrography set has been awesome. Temp control, sturdy case, and so many choices of nibs. Great for beginners and excellent addition to any pros tool box. Great company and customer care. Definitely recommend!

This collection of gear is a great first time setup for someone getting into pyrography.I did have an issue with the heat gun initially but the customer support from Scissor-tailed was prompt and professional. They replaced the broken item and gave me lots of extra advice to prevent further problems.I would give this as a gift to anyone interested in starting the hobby!

This is a good starter kit. It comes with a lot of pieces/options/tips and a case to store everything in.For the price, you can’t go wrong. If you wanted to go heavy into pyrography, you might want to spend a bit more for a nicer kit, but this is good for beginners.Pros:-Lots of tips to choose from-Great starter kit, Has everything you need to get started-Burner cord is a good length-Booklet gives u basic info about the tips/etc-comes with a storage case to keep everything together.Cons:-Only one stencil comes with it-Case is nice, but came open in shipment so pieces went everywhere - would like something with a little more room/better clasp-burner took a bit to reheat as you use it, so had to wait while writing for it to hear back up to finish letters.-included stand is nice but i feel like it will break after a few uses-wish the booklet went into more detail on how to use the different tips/what they looked like/etc.

I bought this for my husband and after he used it for a few times, it malfunctioned. He contacted the company and he received a reply in about an hour! They sent him a new part and it arrived within a couple of days. He was impressed with the quick customer service and is happy with the equipment.

I’ve been wanting to get back into wood burning as a hobby. I did it as a teenager and remember how much fun it was, and wanted a nice starter kit to get back in practice. This set is well made, with a nice selection of burn tips, all in a durable metal case. Works beautifully, very satisfied with my purchase.

I bought this for my son in Dec of 23. It broke one day after receiving it. The tip got stripped when he was removing it. He is a very delicate boy who takes care of his things, but I told him to be careful when threading it and not force it. I got that first one replaced. He used the new replacement and the threading also stripped within a week! DO NOT BUY THIS!!! He very upset and now we have to throw it away in the trash

I honestly wasn’t sure how this kit would be. I got it out, not instructions on what each tip does. The stand is not strong enough to hold the burner. The cord is a little short for my liking. The tips work well, the temperature takes some time getting used to. The whole kit is okay for a beginner, but if your looking to do a lot of wood burning then I would recommend moving up to a higher grade. However, if your just getting started and don’t want to spend a bunch of money, this is a good starter kit. Only advice is it need instructors on the tips and what they can do

Worked great for the first time! A cute little kit with seemingly good quality peices. Or so I thought until the second time using it and one of the tips broke off inside the tool, leaving the part that screws down lodged in the machine making it unusable. Very disappointing considering the price. (Only put 5 stars so this gets seen)

Don't use it at high temperatures for more than about 20-30 minutes at a time, either the fragile threading on the inside of the pen will warp or the threading of the tip you've inserted will warp and have to be carefully unscrewed at an odd angle or else it feels like you'll easily snap it off. Other than that it works fine, though the amount of accessories is hard to cram back into the little aluminum box without feeling like I'm going to break that as well.
