Nice colored pencils. I bought them because I saw this brand on Frank Lloyd Wright's desk in Wisconsin. Write nice.

I had read some reviews on another site and quiet a few buyers complained about the tip shattering when sharpened. Because I had read this, I took my time and used 3 steps with 2 sharpeners (one a two-hole). I gradually twisted the tips into each of the sharpeners; going slow and feeling for a good place to stop and continue on to the second, the the third step. Sounds a bit much, but you're going to pay the extra for a good set of pencils (good for detail work), then taking caution is really not that much. All my tips sharpened just fine with no shattering/breakage.

I like the color choices. They seem more muted than other color pencils I have, but that's fine. They are subtle. The box they came in was something else. Maybe you have to be smarter than the box, but I could not get the box opened without tearing it. Maybe it's just me. But I like these pencils.

I have used prismacolor in the past, after buying colored pencils.... No more.Quality has deteriorated, leads breaking while sharpening to the extent most of the pencil had broken away.Faber-Castell has constantly provided quality, durability, most important... Dependability. I would rather pay more for derwent and faber castell.

I had trouble with the colored pencil lead. They continued to break as I sharpened them! A few ended up half their size before I could use them!

De potloden zijn geheel naar wens.Ze zijn hard en daardoor goed te gebruiken om iets te accentueren.

These pencils are for outlining! They are not for colouring. The leads are hard, so you can sharpen them to a needle fibers point. They are for lettering or cleaning up lines that softer coloured pencils cant do.What is it about prismacolor pencils? They dont look fancy or pretty. But if you are an illustrator, mixedmedia artist or just really into your colouring books, you need them. I'd put prismacolor pencils along side derwent inktense or Faber Faber castells, probably caran dache- although I cant afford them...but verithin...nope, nothing else comes close. You need these if you are serious about getting that professional look.I doubt if I'll come up as a verified purchase, I've recieved mine yesterday, a clear 5 days before due date so still up as waiting to be delivered. Tell you what...look at the art work of John DePianto, illustrator. He uses verithin pencils and watercolours. Then judge for yourself before you believe the comments on her that they are rubbish.

I am a coloured pencil artist I already own polychromos and many other artist quality pencils but wanted to buy some verithins to use for creating fur and hair in my portraits. I am so disappointed with these verithins they are hard and do sharpen to a nice point but that where it ends poor pigment quality hardly leaves a mark on the paper especially the lighter colours. I’m beginning to think they are fakes that people talk about very disappointed.
