I bought this to take with me on the go for sketching when I have down time. This are some of the best colored pencils I have used. They are a bit pricey but they are worth every penny. They come off so smooth and blend very well. I have not had an issues with broken leds in the pencils either. The only down side is that there are only 12 of them so you have a limited color palette.Pros:- Quality- CaseCons:- CostThese are some of the best quality colored pencils I have ever owned and it was the first of many primsacolor art supplies I now own.

I'm not a professional, so I don't know if these are the highest quality artist pencils, although my art teacher, who does beautiful colored pencil work and sells it professionally, uses them along with some of the most expensive brands. They are nice and soft, but the lead stands up well even when run through a long-point sharpener if you aren't pressing too hard. They are more expensive than some of the general brands (which are fine for things like coloring books), but they are cheaper than lots of other pro brands.I had purchased the portrait set, which has mostly browns, soft peaches and soft pinks, so I needed some colors. This was a nice addition of the colors I use most often. The set's colors are listed, so you can compare how many will overlap with your other colors.Recommend if you don't need 48+ colors.

i love prismacolors! i was a little worried since i purchase them in person but they are like how they usually are! very nice quality, very nice colors!

These have great color and are easy to use, but not worth the high cost to me. I find the inexpensive Kalour set I purchased to be just as soft, easy to use and colorful. As best I can determine, the Kalour are the same as the Brunfuner round colored pencils even though the Brunfuner is sold as oil based and the Kalour as wax based - both wax and oil are used in all colored pencils apparently, but they are referred to as wax based if more wax is used and oil based if more oil is used. I know from reviews posted by professionals that the Prismacolor are deemed to have more pigment and to be better at blending and layering. But to me, the differences are miniscule and not worth the high cost difference. Additionally, Prismacolor break often and suffer from waxbloom, so although they have a decent lightfastness rating, they do not seem suitable for professional work any more than the Kalour is. That being said, I am a beginner and amateur with colored pencils - with more experience, I may change my opinion...

We've been getting these for years for birthday gifts and personal use. Got rid of all our other types of colored pencils, because these are so much better.

Seit knapp einem halben jahr zeichne ich nun mit den prismacolor premiere stiften. sie sind bislang die besten stifte, die ich gesehen habe. die farben sind kräftig und satt, die weichheit der mine ist perfekt, sie lassen sich super anspitzen. in das crimson red habe ich mich verliebt. als der stift zu kurz wurde, habe ich einen anderen stift genommen und das zusammengeklebt, damit ich die farbe noch nutzen kann.habe auch das 12er polychromos set von faber castell. wie man dem bild entnehmen kann, zeiche ich mit denen kaum. das soll nicht heißen, dass die stifte von FC nicht gut sind, aber ... die prismas sind mir angenehmer. schade finde ich bei dem 12er polychromos set, dass kein schwarz dabei ist.die prismacolors sind wirklich sehr zuverlässige stifte und helfen einem sich nur auf die zeichnung zu konzentrieren ;)
