I followed the YouTube instruction video that linked me to this product. The heating unit worked initially but when my Samsung oven reached 300 degrees I heard a pop and it ceased to work. The prysm range igniter was in pieces. I reinstalled the correct more expensive product but the oven still did not work. I paid $80 for a professional to assess the problem and my circuit board was fried. My options are to repair it for $550 our buy a new oven for $700. There was no coverage from Amazon or the seller. This product will destroy your oven. Do yourself a favor and do not buy.

Our oven would heat up, and then the temperature would drop down about 100 degrees. Then, it would heat up again. Finally, it wouldn't work at all. After a quick internet search, I thought the problem may be the igniter. I thought it was worth a shot to try and fix it myself. I appreciated the accurate description and the perfect fit of this part. Replacement was very, very easy; just remove the bottom pan of your oven (maybe two screws), and remove the old igniter (two screws), taking a photo first so that you can replace it the right way (it really only goes one way, but still a good habit to get into) and now our oven works perfectly.

Oven wasn’t igniting. I could see the igniter was glowing and sometimes gas would come out but not ignite. Decided to try this part on my old GE XL44. The part came with 2 ceramic wire caps, which was great because I actually ended up using them. The plastic connector clip attached to the wiring looked like it would be a direct fit for my oven’s clip. In fact the plastic clip was a direct fit, but the posts inside the clips on both ends ended up being female... The wires needed to be clipped and stripped on both sides and that’s where the caps came in. An extra step but the igniter works great, the oven fired right up after the install was complete. Saved some cash for sure, can’t beat the price.

So, I got this GE oven that's known to through igniters. I see that besides GE brand, there is a dozen brands on Amazon. all kinds of different pricing with all kinds of private labels for the same igniter. Which to buy? Some reviews on the other private labeled product, complain about receiving busted igniters...or defective igniters...sometimes the replacement was broke or defective as well. I come to the conclusion that Igniters are fragile and need to be properly packaged by the factory/vendor ...as well as boxed/padded envelope properly for shipping purposes. The later is kind of a roll of the dice if you are chosing one that's shipped by Amazon. BUT what isn't a roll of the dice, if chosing a maker/distributor/vender that packs them well. I received the PRYSM Igniter and besides the padded envelope for shipping, the igniter was well packed tightly in a box with convoluted foam. When my Oven eats another igniter, cuz they are known for that, I will not hesitate to order another one from PRYSM. Thank You.

Our gas oven wasn’t heating or holding a temperature and we were getting strong smell of gas because previous ignitor wasn’t working. This was surprisingly easy to install and now the oven is running again, no need to replace.
